Re: Softest ride?

you can get tokico blues. they are much better than stock...even for ride quality.

as for spring, check out the tein H.tech they are amazingly soft yet handle well. (designed for more of the comfortable luxury side because the material is made out of Chrome Vanadium SAE9254V)

and no Chrome Vanadium is not that shiny stuff...lol

ive had them on my accord back in the day paird with the blues. freaking amazing ride.

repp me if you find this useful.

Re: Softest ride?

I wouldn't recommend tokico blues to anyone who wants a soft stock ride, they're much stiffer than people give them credit for. I know, I have them on my car.

For a stock ride just save money and get KYB GR-2.

I would think that the stiffness would be more due to spring rates, not so much the shocks themselves

Re: Softest ride?

^Nope, the struts make a bid difference in stiffness all on their own, I had tokicos on my car with stock springs all winter and the ride is not smooth.

Re: Softest ride?

shocks are made to stop the spring movement, or rather dampen it, being called shock (abosrber) or damper for that reason
So if they are made to handle stiffer or lowering springs, yes, they will hold the springs artificially stiffening the suspension.

KYB GR2's for OP.

BTW, OP did not mention the springs, he only mentioned the shocks.

Re: Softest ride?

Sorry, our cars arent Cadillac's...
Prolly never will be smooth as one with any upgrade...but upgrading will maybe make it more bearable...

Idk if you're like me, if i go over potholes or rough road, I sound like the following:
Ow
Augh
ARGH
ASDFDFBJNADFGH
AUGH MOTHER ******

Then I drive a 2010 car and its like "What? was that a pebble?" :3

Re: Softest ride?

^A good set of airbags and any civics ride would be just as good as a cadillac lol

Another trick to a smooth ride is choosing tires with a slightly larger side wall.

Nor do I have the space for the tank haha
