front strut bar
front strut bar
Anyone know if theres an aftermarket strut bar that works with the car considering I have an aftermarket intake, and if you know anything about the aftermarket intakes, the pipe comes up and therefore gets in the way of most strut bars. I have however found one strut bar that may work, its the dc sports strut bar, anyone have it? http://www.dcsports.com/strutbarhonda.html

Re: front strut bar
I don't have a DC strut bar, but I've seen lots of people with strut bars who just put a little dent in their intake to make it fit. Its a bit unattractive, but at least it opens up your bar options.

Re: front strut bar
neuspeed makes one that clears the intake, and I do believe the DC one does, too. Don't quote me on that last one though..
With the neuspeed one, you have to bend the clutch reservoir about ¼" forward. Just grab and pull. Doesn't hurt anything.

You can see it toward the back of the engine bay.. The black bar. It used to have a yellow "neuspeed" sticker on it, but i pulled it off

Re: front strut bar
I think neuspeed was around $150 and DC is around $180 back when I ebayed it forever ago.
Fun Fact: you can detach the Neuspeed bar and use it to kill zombies!

Re: front strut bar
neuspeed is the best. it will last the life of your car so its worth the cost. mines almost 9 yrs old and just has a lil bit of rust. not too heavy either, maybe 5 lbs. well worth the steering feel (less play from side to side). feels like steering wheel is broken to me without the bar lol.

Re: front strut bar
We can make a thread on it, if you need lots of info. Basically they just improve the flow of fluid and therefore performance/response.

Re: front strut bar
just stainless steel brake lines.... no need for clutch line but its always good to have as well.
here's the basic gist of SS brake lines:
under high pressure/heat (when u depress ur brake peddle), ur stock rubber lines expand and you lose some pressure. so when you put SS brake lines on, and depress the brake peddle, it feels a lot more consistent (firmer) and a lot less "mussy" than stock rubber lines.
its a big difference.

Re: front strut bar
Yeah megan racing strut bars look pretty solid, but again, i just wouldnt really wanna compromise my c a i, personally. F***, I hate talking about all this, its just a tease, but its really an addiction, modifying your car. See I'll have to put her away for like a year and a quarter for school! FML Oh that brings me to my next question, i'm gonna be storing it, but my brother's gonna be startin her like twice a month and drivin it a bit to get all the parts movin. Do i need some sort of fuel stabilizer to add to the fuel when i park it? is it worth it?

Re: front strut bar
I'd sell, its not worth keeping a civic that will be stored for over a year. The oil still needs to be changed, value still depreciates, gas will slowly go sour, you'd need a trickle charger on the battery, tires and belts still age and harden. Basically, anything mechanical needs to be run constantly to stay in good condition.
Re: front strut bar
my first strut bar was the kind that went over the intake all i did was cut off a small section of the intake and it cleared just fine but it was a ebay pipe i wouldn't go cutting up a V2.
Re: front strut bar
yeah i hear what ur sayin but i'm not gonna sell it, i've put enough money into it to make it my own and i will just do my best to make sure it's in good working condition afterwards. It's gonna be at my brother's and as long as he starts it every few weeks for half an hour or whatever, all the belts and stuff will be working and warming up, so im just hoping for the best once i put it back on the road.
