Dropped on stock shocks pics
Hey im lookin to drop my car and dont have the money for shocks too. Plus I dont wanna go threw every page of the official suspension thread. So could you guys that are lowered on stock shocks post up some pics. I think im leanin more towards neuspeed race or sportlines right now, but that might change.

You may wanna think about putting aside money for the shocks in the near future anyways.. I wouldn't recommend dropping on stock struts for a very long time..
The height would be the same as if it were dropped on different shocks. the shocks will only provide a different dampering rate.

Thats what ill probly do. I know when I had my talon I had Eibach pro springs with koni yellows and when the shocks blew the car sat lower when the shocks were good

Save more money and get both, preferably shocks that are known to be able to handle the spring rates, or we will see you soon here asking about shocks. if shocks are not designed to handle the drop+spring rates, they will blow.
just my 2 cents.

Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
Smart plan, unless you'll be installing yourself, would be to do your shocks/struts and springs at the same time - it'll save you labor costs. Also, shocks/springs work together - having crappy shocks with new springs is pointless except for the drop.
Suspension is critical, and I don't mean to sound like a grumpy-***, but being too lazy to research your options is gonna end badly for you....

Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
this is a terrible idea. so learn from my mistakes and save up for springs, shocks, and camber kit to do it all at once. i went with eibach prokit on stock shocks and rode like that for almost 2 yrs. from the beginning the ride was horrible, very bouncy over every bump, i tore up the exhaust and lip kit going over speedbumps because the car could not hold itself up. it made passengers car sick on a 10 minute drive. and worst of all, the car looked like crap with a two inch wheel gap in the front and NO gap in the rear. sagging like crazy and this is with nothing in the trunk (no spare). i finally got some tokicos and the ride evened up nicely to a solid 1 inch gap at every corner. much less bouce, and very firm going over bumps. i have not bottomed out a single time with the new shocks and ive had em over 3 yrs. best upgrade i did. oem shocks cannot handle any drop, no matter how small. they are already very mushy even with oem springs.
Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
Ya i understand, but since im lookin for like a 2 inch drop, so far there doesnt seem to be too many shocks that can handel it and im not about to buy full coilovers, ya they ride amazing but i dont wanna spend that kind of money again.
Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
yo i bought full coilovers. 750 dollars later and my car can be adjusted from 1 to 3 inch drop front and rear. check into skunk2 pro s coilover kit. i mean its a lil bit of money but way worth it. it was rough at first like everyone says but about a month later its riding nicer. or im used to it either way.lol i liked it from the second i put it on and still do now. just throwing it out there. besides the way it works it looks sick as hell too.

Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
Nice thing about coilovers (although it can be a pain in the ***) is you can raise the **** up if need be. My front tires were eating my fenderwell linings (due to the tire profile I currently have, .5" does a lot.. lol), so I raised her up a .25" in the front and .64" in the back (just to even out the drop).
Another nice thing about the tein ss-p's I have, they have a camber plate on the top, so I don't need to buy a separate camber kit for the front.

Thanks guys, ya im goin for the full coilovers here soon. I had the tein basics on my 98 talon, and they road like a dream! I just dont wanna spend 900 for em. Where did you get those skunk2s for 750? That seems worth lookin into
Re: Dropped on stock shocks pics
i looked on ebay and there was a guy selling them for 820 then i offered him 700 he offered me 775 then i did 750 and he took it.lol that was with free shipping too.
