SPC Front Camber Bolts Damaged

I am currently having the joy of replacing some wheel studs and pulled of the knuckle to discover my camber bolts are damaged. As you can see the top bolt in the picture has the threads completely worn away, and the bottom bolt is starting to wear at the same place. Is this common? I assume it is due to insufficient torque on the bolts to keep them in place. This has me concerned since I need to replace them, should I just buy new SPC or try someone else?

Re: SPC Front Camber Bolts Damaged

I think I may have a set of front SPC front camber bolts laying around.. Never installed them. Do you know if yours are the 14 or 16mm bolts?

Re: SPC Front Camber Bolts Damaged

14mm is exactly what I need, pm sent.

Any idea why it happened? I was in an accident in December that replaced the front end. The only thing that makes sense to me is that the bolt has become loose and it started rocking back and forth to wear away the threads. Hopefully this is the reason and replacing with the same and verifying the torque occasionaly as a good driver should do will avoid this in the future. Any thoughts?

Re: SPC Front Camber Bolts Damaged

may have happened from the accident then, if the bolt got pushed.

I wouldn't think you would need to buy an aftermarket camber kit to repair a stock. Maybe take it to a different dealer and see what they say. A vehicle which is out of alignment indicates broken or worn suspension components which should probably be replaced, not band-aided.

Or.. his car is lowered, hence needing the camber kit.

If you look at his profile, he's lowered with an eibach pro-kit
