Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
any grease is ok for polyurethane, but that clear sticky crap works the best, it stays longer and lubes better, but it all works.... so yea, im going up for the weekend of the 10th of may, ill hit u up on the way back maybe, like sunday if its cool, ill let u know
Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
That's normal if the fasteners were torqued with the suspension unloaded.
The fasteners should be loose with the suspension off the ground and then torqued to spec when the suspension is on the ground.
Never torque suspension components with the suspension unloaded. This holds true for any type of suspension.

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
Is this the same procedure for the rear Civic Si hatchback?
My mechanic tried replacing mine today, but he said the bushings were stuck on some type of pin? They also tried calling Honda and Honda said they never replaced them before so they don't know...

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
I know this is an old thread, but...
I'm thinking of ordering the ES LCA bushings so I can get them in when I replace my struts within the next few weeks. I'm not so worried about getting the bushings pressed in and pressed out because I have a buddy with a race shop and a 12-ton press, but I am worried about separating the ball joint and putting it back together. The Haynes manual isn't exactly specific about how to go about this. I mean, if it takes so much force to separate it, how do you get it back together (and what's the best tool to use to separate it)? And what are the chances of screwing it up in the process?

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
yes they make noise in the winter and are silent in the summer (50F+ degrees). but the only time they make noise is due to the suspension and bushings moving like if you go over bumps/potholes and steep driveways. on flat road, there will not be any noise. sometimes turning aggressively can make them squeak a bit too.
Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
i'm getting ready to go to autozone and purchase the entire bushing kit...and rent the bushing press too...has anyone used the bushing press they rent at autozone?

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
lmao, pressing bushings should be $40 tops if you bring them the parts. it hardly takes any time at all for them.
Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
ok i bought the black in color Energy Suspension bushings...calledBelle tire where he quoted me $40 to press out the old ones and press in new bushings...when he saw the polyurethane bushings, he warned me that they squeak like crazy....he said only guys that go to the track use them, and that they don't care about the squeaking noise...well, i won't be going to the track...i was looking for some good bushings...the mechanic looked at the lower control arms that i brought in, and he said they are fine, he would'nt replace them....help! can anyone who has the BLACK energy suspension bushings give me their opinion on them??
