Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
Thanks for all your input!
Greatly appreciated!
I'm going to call a local shop tomorrow as their website says it's in stock.
Then I'm also going to order the Tie Rods from Honda.
I'm thinking getting these things replaced first and then getting a second opinion on my B&G's.
The technician said the Coilovers are knocking, but they're not leaking and that it may not leak, but the knocking is a clear sign that the Coilovers are finished.
Anyone on here have B&G's currently installed? Any feedback on this? I've had them on for 2 years now, and I don't think they should be blown already or knocking as the Tech calls it.
My plan is to get the Bushings and Tie Rods replaced first and then see how the car feels after. Any kind of knocking or instability after those items are replaced could only lead to the Coilover itself. Based on that outcome, I'll then determine if I get a new suspension set up or not.

Front Energy Suspension - Swaybar Bushings?
Has anyone here upgraded to the Energy Suspension Front Swaybar Bushings?
I have a 2002 EX, and I believe my bar is 25.4mm (1"), however, on the Energy Suspension site... there are 2 part numbers.
95129
&
95110
Can anyone confirm which one is the correct Bushing part# to directly replace and fit into the 2001 or 2002, OEM 25.4mm Front Swaybar Bushings, using the OEM Brackets?

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
Part number 16.5133 (according to ES site)
The parts listed below are generic sway bar bushings. You want black.

Any of those will work. Some are greasable some aren't

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
removing the arms is the ONLY way to do this, htey have to be pulled out, bushings pulled, then reinstalled, its a pretty good price considering the depth of the work involved

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
yeah they are taking everything apart, they said plan to leave it there for 1/2 day lol. they are doing both bushing on each side. ill have them do alignment too, usually they dont charge much if there isnt alot of work involved in changing the settings.

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
I didn't know if he was gonna pull the arms and then just have the shop press the bushings. Andy was quoted $140 for the compliance bushings and the ball joints if he removed the arm (actually I removed the arm
). I was quoted $40 an arm just for pressing. That is why I was asking. Last edited by robbclark1; Apr 4, 2008 at 07:28 AM.

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
okay the shop says, they are not sold separately and you have to buy the whole tie rod? lol. does es make anything for it?
edit: looks like they do, altho im not sure if they have em for our cars yet. okay checked more closely and they do not fit the 01+ civics, only the earlier years.

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
all u have to do is buy the outer tie rod end, but this is not necessary, if the boot is cracked its no biggie right now, if u replace tie rod ends, u gotta realign the car, wait till the outer tie rod goes bad, and then replace it, u can tell if its bad by jacking up the car, and wiggle the wheel side to side with ur hands, if it makes noise, its bad, if its quiet and has little to no play or noise, its still good, both of mine are cracked, and still good, u can also prolong it by greasing it regularly if u dont want to spend the money on a new one/ alignment

hey do you guys think its a good idea to let sears install the lca bushings, they only want $154 for both sides (no alignment).

Re: energy suspension LCA bushings...
Honda wanted over $400 to replace the bushings on both side. It was about the same price to replace the bushings -vs- replacing both control arms (which include new bushings).
I just went and bought new control arms and installed them myself.
