Tein Springs worth the worry in this case?

Hey guys,

I was told by a couple of people I know that by the way I drive my car, I should think about getting myself a set of springs not only to lower the car a bit but also to have better springs since they are telling me that the stock springs aren't too great. So until I can fork out the money for coilovers, I guess I should be buying some springs. I was looking at a set of Tein springs that will give me a 1.5 inch drop approximately and I am just wondering if there is a point to it. I haven't been able to find any information on what this will do to my ride. Some people are telling me that it will help me since lowering it a bit will help me and also just having stronger springs would be a good idea. However one person I know in particular is telling me that it's a really bad idea because just a set of springs instead of full coilovers kills the comfort of the ride and apparently when I take sharp corners, I will lean to the side like crazy, even worse than the stock springs. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks.

lol i would love to know where you get your information from. If you searched at all you should have found plenty of info on the subject here. The truth of the matter is no there wont be more lean in turns...quite the opposite actually. What I would say is a bad idea is springs on stock struts. Save up for springs+struts or full coilovers. springs+struts are about half the cost of tein ss coilovers (thats me overly rounding the prices) but you lose the adjustability. I ride on tokico HP blue struts and eibach prokits and the car handles much better than stock. You would probably want to get a upper front strut bar as well. I have a nuespeed bar and I love it.

finally, a good answer! good job nooblet!
I agree with this...do it right or don't do it at all. Slapping springs on your car will help lower the center of gravity an increase the spring rate, but eventually the stock shocks will get weak. Most people think springs are the most important component of handling when in reality, it is the tires, dampers, and sway bars.

Alright then. This clears it up for me, thanks. I guess I might as well wait for coilovers. Thanks a lot for the info.
