Hi, im new to this forum and i was just wondering if i could use the Tie rod from a honda civic 1999 and use it on a civic 2002 . what happen is that where i live in is very hard to find parts for a 01+ civic's and i was just wondering if im not gonna have any problems with doing that .. any help will be really appreciate thanks in advanced.

I believe the steering rack was changed among other things during the generation change between the pre and post 2000 year model civics. As tfnaaf says, that would indicate that the tie rods will not be the same. The parts are not particularly expensive and are probably already decently worn on most 99 civics, more reason to not bother trying to get too creative to save a buck or two.

FYI I used the site forumdig: civic tie rod interchangeability, it's more reliable and effective than most forum search engines I've found.
