Re: installing springs/struts

you dont need a spring compressor to install aftermarket springs. You need a spring compressor to take off the stock springs because they tend to shoot out when you take off the top mounts.

You can rent a spring compressor for free at autozone.

Re: installing springs/struts

you really don't even need a spring compressor anyway. they're civic springs. they're not gonna shoot out like crazy. i've taken struts off civics a handful of times, not a big deal. and if you're scared, just put a jack under it, loosen the mounting bolts up top for the strut, loosen the middle nut, lower the jack, and voila.

or if you really want one, like said above, rent one for free, or they're like 15 bucks at harbor freight.

i'm pretty sure you only need to trim bump stops when you're using stock struts.

Re: installing springs/struts

well, no. there's definitely something to trim, but you don't need to. that setup isn't going to lower your car low enough to where you'd need an extra bit of travel. the bumpstop keeps your shock from slamming up against your top mount.

Re: installing springs/struts

yep, just install the blues and s-techs, a camber kit, and get an alignment and you're good to go.

Re: installing springs/struts

not trying to disagree with kevbotron, but toe is what you really need to worry about. honestly, you might be able to get away without a camber kit with s-techs, but you'll experience a little bit of camber wear over time. honestly though i'd just get a camber kit because there's no sense in cutting corners when modding.
