Coilover help
I just but a set of adjustable coilovers for my 03' civic si, these are supposed to go right over my factory shocks. My question is do i need a spring decompressor for any reason?? and does anyone know what the rubbers rings are for that came with the kit??

with sleeved coils, there is no need to push on them. The only time you need a spring compressor or to push on them is with progressive springs.

it all depends on what kinda coilovers you are working with. I just finished putting on my skunk2 coilovers and i didnt need to compress them at all. Then again, my oem shocks blew so i was able to just press down on them and slip the coilover right on. If you use a lift you can just put them on and have them compress themslefs when the car is lowered back down.

The OEM Springs are not under too much pressure but a good way to take apart the strut mount without worrying about it shooting out at you is just lay the assembly on its side on the ground between two wheels/tires and undo it that way.
