Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
No worries, I called today to order the springs from Speedtech for $230 and $200 installed. Then CMS to order the camber kit for $200 and $200 installed. But as I was talking to them, I found out Speedtech will only charge $220 for the camber kit install AND the spring install if done at the same time. so I just went with the more expensive Eibach camber kit from Speedtech and ended up saving $100. So it's all being done at the same place now, and the guys there suggested that I drive it for a few days to let the springs settle before doing the alignment.
Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
okay...for the most part everyone is wrong...ive been doing alignments at my job for 2 years. camber IS a big deal. especially when you are lowered. i HIGHLY recommend an adjustable camber kit. driving a couple miles is NOT a big deal between installs. HOWEVER! DO NOT drive for any longer than that. when you lower a vehicle and install aftermarket adjustment kits the alignment is completely out of whack! i recommend getting an alignment policy immediately after the installs to correct any alignment issues. ALSO! VERY IMPORTANT! the tech. installing the adjustment kit should somewhat "eyeball" the alignment before setting the car down on the ground. yes the springs take a while to settle but that is why i say get an alignment policy (i.e. 1yr, 3yr, 5yr, etc) this way you can return at anytime and have the alignment checked and done. Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
interesting thread .. i just installed a new set of tokico hp's with eibach sportlines the other day. I already had an spc rear camber kit from my other springs, the prokit. When I took it for an alignment the first time, they printed out a sheet with the specs and told me they didn't need front camber bolts. With the sportlines I did though, and aparently without them they told me it would've been impossible to get the steering right!
Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
Yes Sportline is made by Eibach. Its what I have as well, im very excited to be putting them in once I get my koni yellows.
Worry about toe more than camber.. Just save the money and buy it all at once its worth it. I have the SPC camber kit on my car, and I am not even dropped yet, Its the first thing I do before I even think about lowering.
Aren't alignments only 30-60$ ??? Why would you want to drive without an alignment? Not only is it dangerous, but its pretty damn annoying too.
BlackonBlack's got it right. Camber kit is very easy to install, you just need a good wrench. Its just 3 bolts. Lift your car, take the tire off, and find the stock camber, take it off, then adjust the spc camber to the stock camber length by turning it, bolt it in.. done.
Front bolts are even easier.
Its not hard at all. I wouldn't do springs by myself though.

Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
I was told by the shop that the front camber bolts on my car only correct for 1 degree of camber so he said not to bother.
Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
ley--> springs are pretty easy as well dude. if you follow the DIY on this site you should have no problems at all.
Dex--> the front camber bolts cost like $20 so why not just be safe? at least that's what i think

Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
Wow, this keeps getting better. The shop phoned me telling me my Eibach camber kit is in, that's awesome. Now I'll call them up and get the $220 quoted install for everything right? Wrong. The guy says ya, it's $220 but if any of the rear bolts are seized it'll be another $120 for 1.5 hours of labour and the cost of a new bolt. I'm like, "......ummmmmm........no........." so I tell him that's ridiculous and hang up. Thanks to Grey's D.I.Y. and some other members for coaxing me into it, I just finished installing my springs and camber kit myself. It wasn't really that hard though I wish I did have an air gun. And with the money I saved, I picked up a sweet jack and 2 jack stands. Plus put some in my pocket. So far I think the only thing I paid anyone else to put on my car is the pager alarm system, it feels good.
*EDIT - ....and tint.

Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
I just installed tein SS in my 05civic sedan.. i raised it up a little so it has a little less than a two finger gap..the camber doens't look to bad..but its ok to only get the rear one?...i read on the post early that its more important for our rear ones..but should i get a front one too with the rear or could i wait awhile before i grab the front ones? cuz i'm sort of low on money since i got the SS

Re: How far can I drive without an allignment?
The front camber kit is just 2 bolts and it's only $30 or so. But yes, you can wait because the kit only corrects for 1 degree of camber. I'll get mine eventually.
