Rear Sway Bar

I just installed a Progress rear sway bar on my 02 LX Sedan yesterday. My car is lowered on the Progress drop springs as well. My problem is that the rear end has developed a "bounce" when it go over bumps. For each bump I hit the rear end bounces about 2-3 times. Besides this my car isn't nearly as low in the rear as it had been. Is there a way to put the sway bar on upside down? Any other reasons why a sway bar would affect ride height? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!

You can put the sway bar on upside down but it shouldn't affect height. Can you take a picture of it? If it's on wrong it's probably hitting the control arms which might be causing the ride height problem.

Re: Rear Sway Bar

What did you have to do to get sway bars to work on your LX? I'm assuming that it didn't come with rear sways from the factory

Re: Rear Sway Bar

To tell you my honest opinion. You need new struts. That will solve your bounce problem and you can forget all about that sway bar. Tip to all who read this dropping your car on old *** struts equals tons of bounce issues on civics.

Yup, and a stiffer anti roll bar is just going to make this more apparent...

Re: Rear Sway Bar

Right, you need better dampers. You're bouncing around because the stock struts can compensate for the new spring rate. Lowering the car only adds stress to your stock dampers.
