RSX rear sway bar

thinking of replacing my rear 03 ex sway with either a 19mm or 22mm. i know thatll need to get new bushing, and should get new links for the 22 but i was wonder if i could reuse the old mounting bracket that came with the oem bar for either one.

anyways...has any1 used the stock endlinks with a 22mm sway? any success?

Mounting brackets to the subframe are all the same regardless of bar size, only the bushings change. You shouldn't have any problems with the original end links, unless they are cessed with rust and have to be cut off. I have stock endlinks with a 21mm RSX-S (2006) rear sway bar, they're not going to break any time soon.

you can still use the stock endlinks but there is a chance of them snapping. I think the lower tie bar is a good supportive mod if the rear bar is 22mm.

yea, ive heard of some ppl snapping their stock endlinks with the 22mm, but i really dont wanna fork over half the price of the bar just for endlinks so im trying to justify if its worth it to get the 22mm. but if i do, Ill probably be praying for my endlinks to stay intack. hopefully i dont run over a giant pothole or somthing

yes, I am not exactly sure, but I sometimes think there is a reason why companies sell the 22mm bar with a lower tie bar combo in 1.

i'm actually running the rsx-r swaybar (22mm) on my stock endlinks. yea, the endlinds look flimsy, but so far they've been holding up, even after 2 road racing events.

does any1 have a generic lower tie bar, like the ones on ebay? ive heard that they dont do much anyways, so it shouldnt make that much of a difference whether its generic or dc/neuspeed right?

Please stop the rumor. The 22mm that snaps endlinks is the Progress sway bar (due to a design flaw). The DC5 sway bar (22mm) is on the RSX with the same exact endlinks as our Civics (as RobbClark said above). The 19mm or 22mm will not break your endlinks. Of course there is a chance of your endlinks braking, but there is also a chance you'll get a flat tire today...

I've heard Neuspeed is good, but expensive. As far as the tie bar, I remember looking into it a couple years ago and I believe your statement about a 22mm sway bar should have a tie bar is accurate. I went with the 19mm but may some day step up with the DC5 bar.

screw neuspeed...way overpriced. You can get a comptech 22mm or rsxR bar for under $100. You can get the progress 24mm bar with tie bar and endlinks for a little over $200.

no, the RSX front doesn't fit an EX only DX and LX. You can get an 01 front sway that is 25.4mm or aftermarket.

Isn't the 24MM bar sold "only" for the RSX? I noticed that the 22MM said it was for either the EM2/DC5 but the 24MM didn't mention Civic. I would have to assume that the 24mm would be fine to install on the EM2. I've got the 22MM rear and am starting to want it a little thicker...

Although I'm about to buy some D-Spec's so I might wait until I get those and play with the balance of the car to decide.
