Question for you wheel experts...

I did a search and I couldn't find any answers to this question... What do you think is the widest wheel I can run?
With the proper offset do you think I could get away with an 8.5 wheel or will I come into problems with it hitting my suspension?

Check with Boilermaker...I think he's running a 16x8 right now, not sure though.

Possible, yeah. maybe. But feasible, not so much.
I got 8s under the car with a little finessing, but there isn't even a finger width between the inside of the wells and the tire in the back of the car. Throw another 1/4" on the inside and there's not much chance. Without the camber, they're hanging out the sides and my fenders were rolled.
I've got less than 1/2 an inch between the front strut housing and the rim lip, and I'm using camber plates (you don't have a prayer with bolts).
So I'd have to err on the side of no. You won't gain anything by doing it really, because I sense you're wanting something like 18 or 19x8.5 as anything smaller won't clear the rear A arm.

I was thinking of going wider so I could have a nice lip. I guess that's out of the question though... thanks for the help. +1

Edit: I must spread more rep before I give to you again.

look at wheels with "folded" (my term, probably not a technical term) spokes. The ones that curl in at the lip. with a big wheel, you can swing in quite a ways because the brakes are as small as they are and end up with a fairly good size lip.

02silverbullet is an unknown quantity at this point
im pretty sure i've got 8.5 width rims. the info from websites say that its only 7.5 but i measured it from the edges side to side. i could be wrong in where i measured it from tho.

edit: i do have a +45 offset. im still not exactly sure what that means. im sure that has something to do with it not rubbing

My rims sort of do that now. The lip is a pretty decent size for a 7" wide wheel but I was thinking I could rock some major dish with an extra 1.5"
