coilover sleeves min/max?

most coilovers will do a drop from 1" - 4"
(according to most manufacturers)
however, some sets go to a max of 2"
(why is that?...)

aside from a company website/spec sheet, is there any other indications on the product itself where you can tell what the min/max height is for a coilover?

eg.

I think it all depends on how many threads are on the sleeve and how u install them. If u don't cut the spring seat off then i dont think that they will drop very far. Do u have those coilovers in your pic? I got some for christmas but never installed them. Are they on your civic now?
