inspect boht closely to ensure that they havent got loose around any bolts. i had a creak noise from my rears, i have AGX's and Skunk2, i know not the same setup, but i had a bad scrapping noise, took htem both off, and looked, and prob. solved, broke the sway bar and the rear shock ring wasnt on! just look close form loose parts. the spring on the rear shock cold be loose.

^^^ I'm tempted to agree with this. A lot of the time, thats what it is.

I tried firing a lot of words through the search system but it doesn't seem to want to find all of them together. The dust boots rubbing and making noise is a known Tein problem.

Ya my megans where making all kinds of noise after I cleaned them and lubed the perches. The only thing i could think of is the simple green i used maybe dried out the rubber so it squeaked when it rubbed the spring. So i rubbed some lithium grease onto the outside of the boot and no more noise.

**** don't ever use simple green near open hydraulics
wanted Oil + degreaser = Bad

If you use it to get crud out of the threads or something be ultra careful that you don't get any on the piston, it drips and runs down into the seals.

Cool. Three weeks ago, I had Tein's SS coilovers installed in my 04 civic coupe. One week later, the rear coilovers started squeaking really bad, but all of the bolts were tight. I had read that the dust boot covers might be the problem, but should I cut the dust boot cover to make it shorter or just remove it completely? I'm freakin tired of this squeak every time the piston moves up or down.

Ok, I just finished reading the "Tein SS squeaking fix" thread, so when I take my rear coilovers out and disassemble them, I'll just cut above the scrape marks. Thanks

i can say that trim as little as you can to protect your shock, the dust cover completly gone is a horrible noise to drive with!

you can trim the dust cover with a razor, without taking them out.
