moved again.... "P
I have konis, and I'd have to say the ride is pretty good. Stiffer then stock for obvous reasons (firmer Valving) but the car is much more surefooted (read no bounce). as far as handling... well that really depends, because they are adjustible dampers you tweak them to alter the handling to the way you like. Me I've set them to make the car a bit more tail happy then the "norm". Its important to note that the adjustments on Konis has a lot more to do with adjusting the handling balance then it does with adjusting ride qualty. (I havent really noticed a huge ride quality difference between Stiff and Soft)
Install was free... I did it my self.

Pay for install?
People do that?
2.5 hrs to install the konis in the struts, 3 more to put them in the car.
1 friend
1 12 pack.
So.... $8.99 (could be less with cheaper beer)

I have a set also. I'm not an x-crosser just a daily driver. When I got my 17" wheels and tires I hated the 4x4 look so I bought some Eibach Sportlines to lower it. That fixed the 4x4 look, but also increased the occillating(bouncing) effect. I finally got tired of the bouncing effect and installed my Koni's. The difference in handling was night and day and they eliminated most of the occillation.
I have Koni the ride is great with stock springs but if you plan on droping it you will have to keep it on the stiff side or you will endup with a blown strut well thats the problem i keep having and i have H&R springs on them the handling is great when stiff but a bit rough. Ive had them for about a 1 1/2 years and lost count on how many times i had them replaced. for the install its easy save the $ and do like boilermaker did get a 12 pack or 24 pack
love my koni yellows with the sportlines uhhh hum very nice indeed
looks neat when people wonder that the eff your messing with under the hood and in the trunk when your adjusting them
