Which coilover setup?

ok I am through with my h and r with tokico shock combo. They are wayyy too stiff. I want something soft and nice. I was also looking into upgrading to a true coilover system.
My choices are:
megan racing coilover
tein basic
tein ss w/pillow mounts

my mind is set on the ss with pillow mounts. Does anyone know if the ss use stock bushing at all? I want something that uses non-stock components. Some help would be useful, thanks in advance.

centurioncivic is an unknown quantity at this point
the ss-P will be a stiffer ride because of the pillow mounts, but at the same time they just bolt up, you dont have to use any stock parts. If you just get the ss you have to use your stock upper mounts. you can also go a lil ower with just the ss.

Have you thought about B+G? I've heard they are pretty soft.

I have megans and they are really stiff so you may wanna cross them off your list if you want ride comfort. Also as a general rule coilovers will be stiffer then most springs unless you get into racing stuff.

SS-P has a pillowball upper mount, meaning that it replaces the stock mount. take the old stuff off, and put the new stuff in. I think rears you will need to use stock mounts.

Your going to find it very hard if not impossible to find a Spring on a "coilover" that will ride softer then the progressive rated H+R's..... Its simply a function of the springs "coilovers" use. (Liniar rated Vs Progressive rated springs)

whats your wheel/tire combo? your ride quality issues may actually be caused by that....

I think tein ss and tein basics use the same springs, am I wrong?

megans are stiffer than tein ss/basic

i have hfp rims with 12 spokes.. 16inch.

I have my mind set up on the ss-p cause i want to get rid of my stock bushings, i know they are shot up by now last time i checked they were. Im not even driving my car right now until I get the new teins... then I will get them installed and adjusted with an alignment with new tires same rims.

I like the ride of my Tein SS with pillowball mounts, i adjusted the damping to like 14 to see how it was, kind of soft and bouncy, my mom was driving behind me and said my car was bouncing up and down like a Cadi, so i stiffened them up to the 8 setting on them, rides nice now, of course i'm riding on 18's with 215/35 tires. So the ride isn't like an Accord or anything. Get the SS, you can't go wrong with Tein.
