Installing Neuspeed Sport Springs
This may sound like a really dumb question. When installing the rear springs does it matter which way u place the springs? up or down? The reason why iam asking is because, when i was installing the rear springs, i notice they have the Neuspeed logo on them, but it seems the proper way to install the springs is with the logo upside down.....iam i right or wrong.....thanks guys...again sorry for the dumb question.
I was detailing my car today n I looked at the springs n I saw that the deadcoils were on the bottom. I dont do the springs nor do I know the brand of springs, since I got my car with them. But what could happen with the deadcoils being on the bottom?
here is one reason they are installed upside down.......i have neuspeed sport installed with tokico shocks and if you look at the lower portion of the rear housing neuspeed springs are too narrow on the bottom to fit, therefore must be turned upside down in order for the coil to fit(neuspeeds are wider on the top). i've been driving like this for over a year with no problems. hope this helps.
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=222193 It's not a dumb question especially if more than one person is asking it.

It is easy to install, not so easy to get right. Read all the threads about the people that don't have it right. There is alot of info if you search.

The dead coils are supposed to go on bottom, on the perch. Thats how my Neuspeed/tokico combo is setup. And yes, the neuspeed logo in the back is upside down on mine too. What I've read on here is that neuspeed accidentally put the logo on wrong, but it's not a big deal. If you try to put the spring right side up, the spring will not sit correctly on the perch anyways.
Do u need spring compressors to remove the springs? I ask because I dont hear pple saying nething about spring compressors here, but for corolla suspension, pple talk about using a spring compressor to remove the springs.
Dude, I just installed my springs on Sunday, and we didn't need any spring compressors. Did you see the DIY where MEX took out the stock springs? Mine was actually like that too, not hella compressed. To put in the new springs I just used my arms to hold it down while my friend put in the nut just enough to keep it in. Easier than I though.
Well actually, Since you got Neuspeed Sports, I don't know how that will be to install. I installed Neuspeed Race, maybe they were lower. So in conclusion, I don't know. I just wasted your time and my time. But who knows, maybe it will work.

Well, your question was about removing the springs, so actually I didn't waste any of our time. Just don't remove the springs near something. Not that It will do anything, but just incase. . just incase. .
here is a link to that great DIY, watch the small Vid:

If you are talking about the Neuspeed sports, then the lettering upside down is the correct way. I say that and Neuspeed says that. Now your going to get a 50 50 response.
The back are easy, they only fit one way. The front will fit either way. The flat part goes up and the round goes down, and it fits better this way. In both the front and the rear the lettering is upside down.
If a real car guy visited our forum, they would think we have alot of not so bright members, that love to talk out their

I don't know about you guys civic but my 03 rear springs only go one way. if you look at the springs one end is smaller than the other, for example one end is like 3" round and the other is 4" round not exact # just an example. so they can only fit one way. and thats on stock springs and H&R springs.
