Proper way to adjust height for TEIN SS
Okay, i've always wondered, the TEIN SS/SS-P have 2 perches to lock the spring, and the FLEX has a 3rd perch to adjust height without changing the preload, which means for SS/SS-P owners like me, we have to adjust the height which changes the preload on the spring.
what is the proper way for us to adjust the height? cause if you just crank the top lock nut all the way up, doesn't it just compress the spring? and not actually raise the height? Does the strut rod actually get pushed up when you raise the spring up? or how does that work mechanically?

They're not preloadable. Just lower the perch the spring comes down, you lower the car and the piston goes further into the strut. The lower you go, the less shock travel you get.

i'm actually trying to raise the height, so the piston will come futher out of the strut? in my case, i think the piston is at the furthest point, cause i tried to raise the height more, and the locking rings were soooo damn hard to turn, felt like i was over compressing my springs, so I stopped. I lower the car back down, and its only a 1 finger gap!
i thought the tein's can have your ride at a stock height? is there something i did wrong?

okay, but 1 in drop will still be 2-3 finger gap, and i can't seem to get it up that high, its already very hard for me to twist the perch up higher, i dont know if i'm doing something wrong.

the rear is a huge paint in the *** to raise up because you have to fight the loaded spring even when the car is raised. now the fronts however, when the car is raised the spring becomes loose becuase its not loaded and the front is much easier to adjust when going up. if you're having a hard time raising the rear then nothign is wrong cuz thats how it is with my SS

i love my flex..
spring is never loose..
but when u raise perches ur lenthening the shock travel=decreasing preload
and vice versa
im doing flex on my s2k too.. so.. YES!!!
