Question Question on my struts

*Checked suspension FAQ first and didn't seem to find anything regarding this:

I purchased a set of TIEN S-tech springs and home installed them with a couple tuner-knowledged friends. We installed the back springs first; But, when we had the strut removed, they cut the bumps stops in half... now when we got the front the bumps were encased in a rubber sleeve which didn't allow for us to cut.

My question is this: My ride now sits funny, with the back lower than the front, Should I have cut the bumps? Was this necessary? If so how can i safely remove the fronts and cut those to even my ride and/or should I look into replacing the bumps in the rear struts back to stock size??

*Note: Ride is a '04 Civic LX, with the stock struts.

The car shouldn't be riding on the bumpstops. If it is, something else is wrong. They only tell you to trim them so you get a little extra travel before you hit them. Check and make sure the springs are indexed correctly and fully seated, then let the car settle for a few days. See if the height levels out.

if you have a sedan and are using s-techs, the rear will sag because of the weight distribution of a sedan.. the rear just weighs more than a coupe.

Well **** that sucks. Is there anything I can do to even up the front? The difference is bothering me...

Potentially I could go with some coilovers, but thats a grip of cash. Any help is appreciated.

Konis are not gonna help with his problem. What would be a good route is to sell the S. Techs & buy the neuspeed springs that are made for the sedan. The sedan is by nature heavier in the rear & the neuspeed sedan spring rates compensate for that.

Interesting. I just checked ebay for the neuspeed sedan springs:

01-05 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN Sport 1.75(f)" 1.5(r)"

Just a quarter inch diff, but I spose that would make a bigger difference than I am picturing. ;P *Now... should I replace those damn bumps that I cut?

^ what kind of post is that? Please don't pollute threads with useless posts.

In Catalyst, that 1.75 F and 1.5 F is actually what it would lower it. So, when all is said and done, the front would be .25" lower than the rear. Those are the actual numbers, taking into account the weight difference for the sedan. As far as the bump stops go, I don't think it's necessary to replace them, but it's up to you. It won't change the ride height at all.

Yeah i'm definetly thinking about it. I just bought new tires/wheels and the ride doesnt look as bad, but still... I'm a perfectionist.

*And l3lackstatic is my roomate... hes just being a tard. ;P

Believe me it will get better with time. Just relax, sometimes a front wheel gap isnt a bad thing, a little better on pot holes.
