suspension mods for future k20a2 swap...
If this is in the wrong forum, please move...
Heres the situation. I have an 02 LX coupe with 3 more years of payment (@ a whopping 196/mth). I will not be trading my car in and eventually buy my wife a Tacoma for the family. Once my car is paid off, I would like to swap a k20a2 motor (which hopefully will be cheaper in that time).
For now, I would like to do what I can to help my swap progress, starting with suspension, trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible.
I realize that a 5lug conversion will be too expensive so I decided to keep it 4 lug and purchase either SI axles or GSR axles. What other parts would I need? I also realize that the car might sit weird so what other parts are recommended.
thank you for all your help guys

Theres no sense doing it "as inexpensive as possible". Whats the point in having to do it twice. Your best bet is something that you can buy replacement springs for, like ground controls or full coilovers so when the heavier engine goes in, you can raise your front spring rates easily. Even so, the front rates should only need to go up about 50 lb-in, which you probably won't notice. Rather than ordering an off the shelf GC kit, just custom order the rates at 400/475 (thats a slight increase front and rear), put em on a set of konis, call it a day and don't bother changing them when you swap the engine.
Semi-OT: I don't anticipate the price of K20s to go down. Demand for them is going up as more swap kits come out and the supply of B-series motors gets older and less plentiful. The price of them is either gonna hold, or may even go up. There's more cars that can hold one than there are motors to go around.

The shop tha did my swap had a package, and it was about $6 grand for everything, and for having it in for almost a year I have had no problems with the way the car rides or sits...Altech Performance in Toronto did it for me....find a reputible shop that has some kind of package together for this swap...pay a little more now to save on headaches and avoidable mistakes from inexperience or cheap parts.
