*updated w/pics* Tein Basics...(problem solved)
Just installed tein basics. No real problems exept for one. I can only set it for 1 1/2 finger gap in the front and 2 finger gap in the back or else the tires sometimes rub over bigger bumps. seems like when they are set to 1 finger gap there is so much difference in the stiffness. they are so much less stiff with one finger more of a drop from where they are now. i think the problem may be that i have 215/45/17. Maybe the 215 width is the problem cause it sounds like the outsides are the parts that are rubbing. Anyone else have this size of tire with a lower ride height and rubbing issues (especially people with tein basics)? thanks

those tires sound a little too big if you want to get rid of wheel gap.... if you had 205/40/17 then you could probably go as low as you can and not rub. i have TeinSS which are ssame as Basics only with dampers.... i'm tucking 215/35/19 in the rear and the front has like half a finger gap and i dont rub. so i think its the tires

yes if you want it slammed then yes you got hte wrong tire size if you want as much cushion as possible then you got the right size, but imo it looks perfect to me drop and wheels

the tires are brand new Nankangs (215/45/17). 1000 miles on the rears and 75 miles on the fronts. should I sell just the tires on ebay or something or should i sell them as a whole package with the rims. then i would have to uy a package with 16 inch rims. how much do you think i could get for them seperately or together. or do you think someone would trade here on the forum for 16's.
Yep, I have SPC front and rear.
Alignment shop was able to set the adjust rears perfectly. The fronts have still have negative camber but the toe is good, hopefully my tires dont get chewed.

215/45/17
17x7
offset 43+
Tein ss
I had one finger gap all over, maybe less than that.
Didn't have any problem with rubbing.
Didn't have camber kit either.
Check your wheel offset, that might be the problem,
Just play around with it..
You can lower rear suspension lower than that without any rubbing.

just switched back to my stock rims and tires and even lowered the car a little more to a tight two finger gap and have no rubbing. It has to be my rims and tires. The rims are 17x7 215/45's just like yours. And yes i have a SPC front and rear camber kit. Where can i find out the offset because when i had my aftermarket rims on before the tires looked like they were out pretty far compared to the fender. I guess i have to keep my stock five stars on and sell my rims. IDK what do you guys think? Anyone interested?

My tires almost line up with fender. If I lower my car, I know I'll have the same problem as you. I know I could probably get away with this problem if I don't get a camber kit, cause the tires would tuck inward at the top. I don't want camber wear on tires that I spent a lot of money on though.
I've decided in the long run, that I don't want to change over the tires, cause I'll probably lose money. I think I'm just going to 4x4 since I drive my car in the winter too.
With the extra money that I save for my tein basic, I'm going be spending it on an HID kit instead... woohoo !!!

Roll fenders? Do you mean that lip inside the wheel well? I was thinkin of tryin to bend that up since that is what was rubbing the tire but i thought as i bent the lip the paint will not bend with it and it will chip potentially on the oitside of te fender as well as the inside.

new problem now......just put on the stock roms and tires and lowered the car to 1 1/2 finger gap no more rubbing, but the rear passenger side is clanking over bumps and not the other side. Everything is the same (height, and amount of dust cover that was cut, no added weight in the back or anything) WTF, one problem to the next. Any ideas on what it could be?
