Rear suspension squeeks
Anyone here have problems with their rear suspension squeeking? I'm pretty sure it's either the sway bar bushings or the endlinks, but I can't think of anything I did wrong to cause this.
If anyone has or has had the same problem, please post and let me know what your findings are. Thanks

i have that problem. it squeeks mainly when it's cold out or after i drive the car hard. i'm riding on tein basics, though. suspension in the rear is tein basics and rsx-s 19mm anti-roll bar with stock endlinks. whenever i go over bumps i'll get a nasty sound that sounds almost like metal on metal, but is covered up by a lot of rubber.

Endlinks are ball joints, they shouldn't squeak unless you tear the boot and water gets in. If you have poly bushings anywhere back there (camber kit, sway bar bushings, spring seats, coilover seats, etc...) Poly squeaks when dry. You need to grease it.

Well, I was sitting around being bored so I decided to try and figure out what my squeek was caused by. I went out and got a spray lube simply to test and find the squeek (will use grease later to stop it permanently). I came to find out that my problem was caused by the endlinks (I bought a pair from Grey). I'm not sure if I have them installed wrong or what, but they were squeeking since day one.
If anyone has these on their car and can get a pic of them for me, I would appreciate it much.

i remember reading a service bulletin about squeeking from the rear...i think it had to do with a rubber bushing on the control arm? i'll see if i can find it...
edit: here you go:

edit2: here's the forum link w/ a mirror incase that one doesn't work: http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...light=tsb+list

Squeaking Rear Fix
II HAVE READ AN ARTICLE REGARDING THE SQUEAKING REAR.
Honda has issued an upgraded bushing to fix the squeak.
In 2001, the Honda Civic was totally redesigned, including the rear suspension, with those trailing arm bushings always end up squeaking over bumps. Well, for Civic owners who grew accustomed to their beloved squeaky Civic, and thought of the noise more as an "audible rear suspension travel gauge" than a noise better suited to Jed Clampet's truck, good news, the new generation of Civics squeak from the rear too!
For those of us who would like their sleek new Civic to glide slilently down the road, there's also good news. Honda has issued an upgraded bushing to fix the squeak. If your car is still under warranty, any Honda dealer will install the upgraded bushings for free. If your warranty has expired, we'd be happy to install them for you. We keep a set of bushings in stock. The the old style bushing (on the left) has a metal core covered by rubber. The new style bushing (on the right) has a metal core and a metal shell.
