Thumbs up KYB AGX Review

Installed the Eibach Pro Kit, KYB AGX Struts yesterday. HUGE improvement in the ride and handling of the car. Struts are currently set on 2, so I'll have to play with the numbers to see how much of a difference the settings actually make. Based just on 2 days driving, I am extremely pleased.

Little hint on tuning .... KYB's adjust low to mid speed rebound dampering, so they are designed to influence handling more then they influence ride quality....

Basic idea here, Increase the rebound dampering on the opposite end of the car that you want to have stick more. I.e. if the car is understeering, either increase Rebound dampering on the rear, or decrease it on the front. If the car is oversteering, Increase rebound on the front and/or decrease it on the rear. Simple.

otherwise Increasing rebound on the front can help make the car more responsive, but you have to balance the Responsivness Vs more understeer side of increased rebound on the front...

Happy Tuning!

BTW: I have konis, and they adjust Low Speed rebound too. On the street I have the front set to full soft, and the rear set to 1/2 Up from full soft. when I autocross, the fronts stay at full soft, and the rears are set to 1/2 Turn down from full had, then adjusted as the track needs.

no prob, Your probably going to end up with a stiffer setting on the rear then the front.

welcom to the often misunderstood art of tuning dampers...

Liro is an unknown quantity at this point
same goes for increasing the ridigity of the frame....if you are looking for more oversteer add sway bars to the rear....

^^Sway bars dont reinforce the frame.... they increase roll resistance by tieing the two sides of the suspension together. THus influencing the balance of the car. (The side of the car with more roll resistance will tend to lose traction 1st... So, if the car understeers you either decrease roll resistance at the front, or increase it at the rear ) Which explains why I'm running a 15.9mm front anti-roll bar and a 25.4mm rear...

Our shop signed up as a KYB authorized installer, and included in the deal was a free set of struts, so I managed to score them for my Civ!!

I am going to take some of your knowledge here, and stiffen the rears up and see what happens. Also going to add the Eibach anti-roll kit and Neuspeed front lower x-brace. How does this sound?? I don't autocross, but like my car to stick to the road, and go where I want it, when I want it. I do appreciate your help here!! Rep point to ya!!
