I have had my yellows on for about 9 months not and when I first put them on I had my doughts about the rear being held up by a lock ring. well my fears have been proven. I was driving and hit a pot hole. it wasn't even that hard and the entire right rear side of my car just hit the ground. the tire was completely tucked in the well. the ring had popped and the perch slid to the botom of the strut. car was dragging on the ground. I had to fix it on the side of the road with some hose clams just to get home. Now I am saving up for a set of full coilovers. for now I have 4 hose clamps holding the perch up. I can't belive they would put all that weight on a cheap little snap ring. That was a very stupid Idea. Just figured I would warn everybody that has them. it could happen to you.

yes I installed them. there is an adjustable snap ring that locks in to a slot under the perch that hold the perch up. Thats it a little bendable snap ring.

Yeah no probs here either. I know that Koni made a change to the perch so that the ring clip is now locked in by a little groove they cut into the perch. Maybe you got an old set? Call up Koni and I bet they'll send you the fixed perches and new clips. BTW, this design is over 1 years old I think.. maybe more.

yeah, if you have a busted set, or the first set or whatnot, I would call them and see if they can pay for any other damage as well. Lawyer call them? i would not be paying for it myself, when they sell something like that. It was their products fault. Hope they dont have a ToS. they probably do though

Koni makes some of the best shocks avalible and they have a lifetime limited warenty... if some thing brakes they will most likely repair or replace it. Give them a call and see. They are one of the few companys that stand behind their products.

well, looks like the problem is that you're on ground control wannabe coilovers. i don't think koni recommends you use sleeve coilovers (someone correct me on this). i remember someone else had the same thing happened to the rear and he was either using ground controls or skunk coilovers. i have my koni's with goldline springs for a year and i have no complaints.

I have been running gc's with koni's for 2 1/2 years no problems.
They will look like this with the adapters.

Koni will send you some new lock rings free. Then get the adapters from gc.

Ok. my wife ordered the ground control sleeved coilovers for me a long time ago. she ordered the ones for stock shocks cause thats what I had at the time. I guess that might have something to with it. so warning to those running that set up as well.
