getting tokico blues installed soon...
...i got an '02 sedan on neuspeed sports and i just wanted to know how much better than STOCK is the ride quality? will they work with an ingalls camber kit and should i replace the oem bushings in the strut mounts when i change the shocks? also, is there anything else i need to know before i install them? (eg. general problems, etc.) thanks.

i read some reviews at honda-tech.com and they say otherwise. i thought tokico blues were performance shocks. it turns out they are nothing more than an oem replacement, not designed to handle drops. if they're going to blow out on me in two or three years i might as well just buy oem ones from the junkyard for less than half the price of blues. i need something that can handle drops and still be durable...that is my main reason for changing my shocks, durability. i don't want to waste money on koni yellows because i don't race or even drive my car hard. what's an extremely durable shock that can be had for a decent price?
btw: my friends '94 accord has over 180,000 kms on it and he's never replaced the shocks.

Blues are better than OEM but aren't designed to handle LOW drops, which i would say would be 1.75" and below. They aren't made for racing either. They should last you awhile.

I insalled them less than a month ago, on the installation sheet that they sent me (4 of them) it said no more than a 1.75" drop for most cars. So I dropped mine 1.75 and if they blow they are under warranty. I had them professionally installed as well.

i just installed the tokico blues on my car and drove around the city(approximatly 100 kms) they are GODLY compared to stock(btw i'm lowered on neuspeed sport). i can't believe what a big difference these make! the ride is SOOO much better. you still feel some of the larger bumps but overall it feels almost like stock and i had 18's on. i am so happy i purchased these, i almost decided not to get them because of a few bad reviews i read. obviously these guys don't know what they are talking about or they have their cars dropped too low.
btw: i checked the instructions that came with the tokicos and they state that the MAX drop is 1 and 3/4" which is 1.75". this means the neuspeed sports i have JUST pass and my warranty is still good.

the hp's and illuminas are made for drops...jus like the kyb agx...
stock replacements are like the tokico blues and kyb gr2's...but i mean they'll hold up for a while, but u might wanna look into something that can handle the drop

I have the Tokico blues and Neuspeed Sports on my 02 sedan they are awesome. Much better ride quality than the Koni Yellows I had on there and much more quite too. I have had them on for several months of daily driving without a problem but with much more enjoyment of the ride. I think they will hold up well for you, especially if you don't go lower than 1.75" and are not racing.

Infinite, Ingalls camber does work with them. I have ingalls front camber which was free with my HPs. You dont need to replace anything unless your mounts are busted. I told the shop to replace mine (free of charge to me) and they didnt do it. So I still get cracking noises from the mounts on certain turns. If your drop is 1.75 or less, you will be fine, and they will have a lifetime warranty on the shocks. Have them professionally installed if you want (warranty purposes)

ive had them since july and let me tell you pal there is no way in hell these things are like OEM. Im dropped on neuspeed race and they are as stiff as the they i got em in, sometimes its too stiff i commute everyday 20 miles to work in the city. My question here to gearbox or especially robbclark, i mean im not going over massive potholes but im hitting a lot of bumps here and there and trust me im trying to avoid em. I know my chassis is not meant to take this load because of the stiff suspension, i know something is going to wear out, bushings maybe? I dont know im just concerned i dont want my chassis to get damaged.
PS sorry to hijack the thread brotha

neuspeed race is 2.25" F 2" R. in the instructions it states that the max drop the tokico blues can handle is 1.75". you need different shocks that can handle your drop...(eg. koni yellows). i'd have to imagine that your shocks will probably blow out before your bushings and chassis start to give you problems.

im getting them removed anyway its hell for me in NYC to commute 20 miles back and forth everyday, the highways are killing my chassis and car in general, i know this is def not good so im jus gonna go back to stock shocks and springs. I dont even care anymore about having a modified car. Id rather just have less worries and hastles. Ill post em soon online, im selling my race springs to a friend but im gonna sell the sports and the blues all in one shot. Ill ppost in the FS section later this month.

can i do that just use my stock springs and use tokico's instead? What would be the benefit of that? Im trying to have a better quality ride where im not shaking all over the place and rattling body panels loose over speed bumps....would the ride be just as firm anyway?
The ride would be a tad firmer than stock, but nothing like with race springs and you were probably bottoming out on top of that. But, you'd have no more "floaty" feeling on freeways and everything else associated with a underdamped car (Honda).
