Ractive Upper Strut Bar any good?
Hey guys,
For about a year and a half now, I've had this Ractive upper strut bar on my 02 Civic ex. My bf bought it for me.
Anyways, another civic in my town rolled up beside me and we started talking on mods we've done for our civics. I saw the engine bay and it's got a huge, chrome DC Sport upper strut bar.
I was really impressed with it, but am wondering if my strut bar is just as good as the DC Sport upper strut bar?
I've heard on other car sites that any upper strut bar will do.....its just a bar. But if your trying to compare lower strut bars, then theres a difference.
What do you guys think about the upper strut bar? Should I keep my Ractive bar?

IMO the only way that the DC is better than a generic (ie Ractive) is that it allows you to install a cold air intake at the same time. But it still has moving joints, so to me it's not as good as a 1-piece like the Neuspeed. No need to spend any more cash, a strut bar is a strut bar.

basically, if youre not going to attack the corners and plan on making the tires go nuts on those corners, any bar will do. I always felt the DC bar is nice for looks, but doesnt function as well as other strut bars with a lower price.
BTW, your Civic looks great!

DC sports is too flexible. Front front strut bars I would recommend either the neuspeed (which allows a CAI) or the spoon (which does not allow a CAI). For rear strut bars anything will do, but the cusco one is the best. I personally have the Neuspeed front and an OBX rear. The neuspeed front has no moving parts and is one solid piece which makes its design better than most other front strut bars out there.
