Whats u everyone.
Ive recently been horsing around with different camber settings on my back wheels, and changing ride height and such, so im just wondering if it is possible to buy all the tools needed to do an alignment myself? I dont want to pay again to get it done, since all the stock stuff is going back on for winter time anyways, so is it possible. I think grey said he can do it himself so grey if u read this let me know what you do.
Thanks
Landin

... you realize that by changing camber and ride height you are also changing the toe settings... and bad toe settings are 10X worse then bad camber settigns (In regards to tire wear)
and to answer your question, Yes it is possible to buy the equipment needed to do your own alignment

^yah i know thats why i want to fix it right away. Would the diy thing work for all alignment setting, cuz it seems like all the other options are much more expensive.

no i meant one of the options he posted...http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=267237
that one seems really cheap compared to the other ones, so im just wondering if i can do everything with that one set-up.

^okay i see....as for camber i can pretty much do that by eye, i mean its pretty obvious when u have camber. I mean i did it myself when i did the suspension just to get it close, and when i got to the alignment shop it was already within spec.
So if i use the toa alignment rack then im all good except for the front caster, and i can get the other thing to do that correct?http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/long17.htm

and from my exp. of doing alignments for 19 years give or take, the best that you'll be able to get camber eyeballing it is + or - .5 if your lucky

zzyzx: so i dont need to worry about caster then? its just toe and camber. And realistically i can get my camber close enough, cuz ive done it before (rear left was -1.0 and rear right was -1.5) this was before the alignment. It was noticable that i still had negative camber, but i left it for them to do.
So what tool do you think would be the most economical, and the easiest to use, because there are lots of different options

After I got my wheels/tires/springs I took my car to Sears to get the alignment checked. They said they don't need to check it because it is not adjustable on our cars. I thought this was total bs. Called another shop and they said they'd have to hammer on the knuckles to fix alignment on my car which would have cost me $400 in labor when i could buy a 100- 200 front and rear camber kit and put it on my self.
