I think either way would be fine. Enlarging the hole 2mm is basically 1mm on each opposite end. There seems to be enough material around the hole that 1mm overall probably is structually safe. However, dont take my word for it. Perhaps contact Tokico first before doing anything and ask their opinion.

so, any word on whats best/safe? etc..im wanting to get tokicos now too, but if need be i suppose i could always wait till feb, or whenever they release for the 03..

about using 14mm bolts, what kind specifically are needed to be safe and make sure they're strong enough?

anyone know first hand?

I just installed Tokico Blues on ym 04 Civic ex this past weekend

I found you have to use a zip tie to hold up the bump stop
the steering tie rod end holes needs to be about 2mm larger
and the mounting holes on the lower part of the strut need to be enlarged.

i did all this with a cutter bit and a dremmel

I have hp's on my 03. I sent the struts to a machine shop to open the bottom holes to 16mm. I also used a 01 bumpstop which fits snug on the strut rod. Do not try to use 14mm knuckle bolts on a 03+, the struts will move.

so i would able to go down honda and purchase 4 bumpstops from the 01 civic model and it'll loop right on my 03 struts poles? meaning no zip-ties would be nescessary in my installation then right?

heres what my 03 bumpstop looks like, whats the differ between 01/02?
