What is that sound???***update***
i recently lowered my 01 civic on neuspeed sports. now whenever im at a dead stop and turn the wheel either way i get a poping/creeking/f-uped noise from the right front area. also when i go over a bump i hear it knock. *now ive tried doing searches on this, but it seems like nobody was certian how to fix it. can anyone please tell me how to fix it, and if you have the same problem. thanks!
now its making a creeking noise when i turn the wheel in the rear. i hear somehting goin on in the back of the car. dont know if it might be the brakes or if its coming from the front. anyone have this?

I do get a creakin, at low speeds when turning the steering wheel (I dont get popping or knocking).
From what I understand the sound is normal (meaning you kinda have to accept it). People do often suggest that the noise is the "dead coils" twisting on each other when you turn. Solution is a coil wrap (something they say you can buy at Radio Shack) ... but I aint about to have the shop take them off and put that on for another $200CDN in labour.
The guy at the shop I went to told me that the aftermarket spring isnt an exact fit (obviously they are shorter) .. and that there is abit of movement up top in the boot. Nothing that will make your ride dangerous ... but just enough that it has a slight movement that can be heard.
A 2001, alot of the struts in the front are defective ... so I mean in worst case scenario it could be that the front strut is busted ... but I doubt it from they symptoms your descibing. Be aware that your factory struts will probably go soon tho. I'd suggest Tokico Blues as a replacement (cheap and good quality)

Like whitehalf said a lot of times it's coil bind, but it can also be due to an improperly indexed strut... searched strut index for more info on it. It's not dangerous and it can be left alone without harm.

do you know how many times this has been covered over and over and over and over and over and over..........
talk to neuspeed they have some stuff you can put inbetween the springs its just the sound of them rubbing together.. and that knock sound your hearin when you hit bumps its your shock due to unwanted stress , it will blow eventually and yes tokicos are awesome if you want non adjustable and no they arnt that cheap it will run you around 400 bux US

But for replacement struts .. Tokiko Blues are cheapest, compared to Illumina's (adjustable) and especially Koni Yellow's.
Indexing could be a problem .. but basically that means the guy installing your springs is a complete moron and doesn't know how to install **** ... but you never can know out there, it does happen.
For instance my car is an '02 civic si (cdn 2 door coupe) and I only have 19 000 km on it. I dont get any knocking sound ... probably because my struts are ok atm. But I know specifically on the 2001 and some batches of the 2002's the struts blow even on factory ride settings. Gayness .. but thats what Honda gets for switching to the cheaper MacPherson struts, rather than the Japanese developed double wishbone
