new tie rod boot=alignment?
I just changed my busted tie rod boot with one from honda, and i wanted to know if i need to now get an alignment. I just popped it out of the strut put the new boot back in and put it together. I did not move the strut in any direction when the tie rod was out, so i dont see how i could need an alignment, but i wanted to ask anyways.
another question i have is how people stopped there exhaust from rattling on the rear control arm. Im really low in the back, and thats the only thing clunking. I know others must have had this problem so what did you do?
Thanks

Yes, you should get an alignment because the tie rod adjust the toe. You put in a new tie rod that may not be in the same position as the old one so it is a good idea to get one. Not necessary, but a good idea.
I wrapped a piece of engine hose around the sway bar and used a metal screw clamp to keep it in place. I know it still hits, but it doesn't clang around anymore.

robbclark i just changed the boot, not the entire assebly. The steering wheel is still in the same position, and the car doesnt pull to one side or the other. You think i still need one? Maybe ill put something in between the control arm and the exhaust. It sucks cuz its the only thing that makes noise over bumps.
telly:lemme know whut u find out man. Clangin' sucks!
rickinthescv:yeah i changed the boot, but i mean obviously the ball joint moved around when i was trying to get it off. I tried to put it back the same way so you think im fine? How can i tell if my toe is off?
