Hayames rubbing...

Hry everyone, ok i dropped my car and everything is good except the back tires rub....and when theyt rub they rub HARD,....they rub on the very outside of the tire...they rub on the body of the car. Ok the way i setup the backs was i put the coil part real tight...so it doesnt really move much around, and then just adjusted the bottom ring nut so my car sits kinda high...anyone know why its rubbing... or how i should adjust the hayames to not rub? Thanks.

i rub too with the b+g's in the rear. Jack ur car up and look for signs of rubbing on the inside of ur fender and on the tire and figure out where its hitting. I cut away some stuff to clear some room, and process of elimination style. Cut one thing go for a ride. Cut another thing go for another ride down the same road with the same bumps so you can tell if it actually changed in the same conditions. I had 2 guys in my back seat and eventually i got it down to a minimum of rubbing. It helps with passengers cuz it puts more weight, and they can listen to see where its commin from. You can also try having someone bounce up and down on the back of ur open trunk (very carfully) and you can see where its closest to hitting. I rolled my fenders too so it doesnt hit them after i got aligned and perfect camber. Tire size also affects rubbing. Im on 215 45's now and i rub, but with 205 40's it wouldnt rub as much. Hope this helped! Good luck!

Easy solution! You either:
1. Make the ride height in the rear higer.
2. Adjust the camber in the rear more negative to miss the fender lip that the tires hitting.
3. You or a body shop trim or roll the rear fender lip so that you can run your current camber (and factory) settings and drop as low or as high as you wish.

I rubbed to man with my hayames at first. I took it in to get it aligned and no more rub. The camber was so jacked up on the rear that i was causing it to rub. Just go get it aligned and you'll be golden man. That was the solution to my identical problem u are having.

before alignment: no rub
after alingment: not drivable because of rubbing

I took it to my rim shop and they cut out the inside lip with an air saw.
I then took it home, jacked it up, sanded down the cut metal and painted the edge with touch up paint to prevent rusting.

Can't believe no one has mentioned tucking their fenders. get a baseball bat and bent the inside in. I didn't have a baseball bat, so I used the wooden end of a hammer. worked great.

I agree. But if you are going to do that, make sure you use a heatgun to soften the paint so the possibility of cracking is less.

On my girls car I got 205/40/17's on and the car is slammed... it doesn't rub at all due to the rear having a negative camber, I think 215's would rub tho. I don't know if this helps any...
