Teins EDFC..why didnt they make one of the vic
A friend of mine hit me up about this the other day, this was the first time i had ever seen this, tein makes an adjustable dampering system for cars but not that vic, that sucks big *****.
As you might know its called the EDFC "(Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force by controlling a motor installed in the shock absorber while being seated in the driver's seat. Since the damping force can be manually controlled with ease to meet different situations, the driver can enjoy variations in the suspension setting."
it has 16 different settings..now thats bad ***..heres what it looks like

why in the hell dont they make one for the vic..damn in down town LA i could use that ****. the streets there are all f^cked up and seriously it sounds im riding on the bump stops with my 19's ..if im wrong some please correct me if the do make...but from the chart that they provide on there site i dont see that they do
heres the link for the chart
http://tein.com/edfc-fit.html
I did notice that they ,ake one for the RSX...i was wondering if that would fit giving the fact that the parts are interchangeable..
sorry if this is a repost

The make them for the EP3 but not the EM2 or ES3, at least not yet. Besides there is not enough clearance in our hoods to mount those suckers and those with Neuspeed bars will have to remove the bar before the unit can fit.
You can just buy the Tein SS and manually adjust the damping your self.

Its just a gimmic, a show thing... No racing scantioning body allows for adjusting the dampers from with in the car....
BTW, the Tein SS and the Tein FLEX (which both fit our cars) have adjustible dampers..... you just have to do it maually from out side the car.

wait if you can adjust them manualy then why couldnt you adjust them with computer...?
whats the process of adjusting manualy...is not just like wrking with the EDFC, get out open the hood few turns on the nut and your done...

They are currently designing Tein Flex for the EM/ES chassis.
Adjust the dampening is different depending on the shocks. Some are above and easy to get, some are below and are a little more difficult. All rear shocks for the EM/ES should adjust through the trunk. The fronts can either adjust under the hood or on the bottom of the shock. It really isn't that difficult. EDFC is a waste of $300.

i have a budy of mine who said he road in a car with the edfc..he mention to me that thay turnd it down to a soft suspention and were swayign the car back and fort and with a few clicks of the buttns the suspention stiffend...not giveing it as much play..
robbclark1 ...do you speak from experiance or just thinking out loud....i want to know for sure have you road ina car with EDFC to back your claim of it not wrking and not being wrth the money.
see for a person like me there are times where i find myself in many situatuions, in Los Angeles there are many MANY ruff streets...do wouldnt want t stiff suspention then...but i dont want to get out of the car either to addjust for this...or even do it on the weekend to plan for the week...
and there r times when im on the free way and i want to corner well, pluse where i live, in the hills of Lahabra Heights there are crazy turns and swrvs ...so ya im going to want some thing a little stiffer..
to be able to control it from in the car would be great.

No, I have never ridden in a car with EDFC, but my coils are adjustable so I know what it takes to adjust coils which isn't very much. I can adjust all my coils in the matter of minutes. Like we said, you can't do any type of LEGAL racing with EDFC. No sanctioned body allows it. I, personally (and many of the other racers here), think it is just a gimmic. The only thing it will get you is show points.
BTW you can't change the dampening while in motion. At least I think that is how it works. So when you are driving along and want to change it, you have to pull over. Again, not from experience, just from what I read. It doesn't change the stiffness of the car, per se. The dampening allows you to control over/understeer. The springs set the stiffness.
I can't tell you how to spend your money. And, it seems like you have made up your mind. I am just telling you that $300 for a little machine to turn your dampening *****, I feel, isn't worth it.

i agree, total waste of money. even if its allowed to be used, U don't have anytime to use it on the track. What driver has the time to remove their hand from the steering wheel and change the setting on the track. even if its on the straight away, you have other thanks that you need to pay attention to that is more important.
Now if the EDFC was to automatically adjust the dampner as you drive, that would be a neat trick.
The harder you drive the harder it sets the dampner rate.
In Japan Toyota has this setup in their high end Supras.

btw it will fit on ES1/EM2 chassis..
all u gotta do is cut away some of the bracing on the hood.. front/rear the EDFC mounts on top.. rears fit fine.. fronts like i said will hit the hood.. u get a plasma cutter or w/e and cut away the bracing on hood and ur good to go..

Even though fits, I would still not buy it. Unless it has these two features.
1) You can fit a Neuspeed bar on at the same time the unit is installed
2) It has both manual and automatic damper adjustablility.

why would u need to manual dampen?
the unit has +/- 0-16 and then has 3 presets where u can set and save.....
neuspeed bar goes onto the bolts on strut assembly and should not get int the way.. the EDFC unit does not screw onto or have a "mount" the top of the shock has threads which the EDFC bolts down onto and then a locking nut is added....
