DC5 Integra Type R rear sway bar review!

holy ****! .. this thing ****ing rocks!

Whoever said that it would be too stiff should walk away right now... somebody said that.

Damn this thing is AWESOME ... 22mm type R sway bar. I think the dc5r end links work, but I ended up using my stock civic endlinks ... they seem to work ok (Grey, if you're reading this, I would like to buy some of yours!)

I used the ITR bushings ... the stock civic metal bushing covers fit perfectly with the bushings.

The car feels just as stable as my car did when it was on 225/50/16 goodyear tires ... unfortunately, I'm on stock Michelin's (02+ Si rims) but it still feels extremely stable. You notice it right away when you are driving, starting off (from a stop), driving, goin over bumps and especially turning. Even though the tires screech (stock tires), the car feels very stable on turns, unlike before. Ride is a lot smoother now as well

I recommend this product to ANYONE. I haven't used anything except the stock EX rear sway bar, so I really can't compare this to anything, but it's excellent

Good stuff - I reviewed this earlier this year myself, and I still have it. I opted for the Energy Suspension bushings instead of OEM, which makes for a more responsive (but noisier) ride. Thing is if you're using the stock endlinks, expect a rattling noise soon, from them being broken and flying around in there. I have Grey's on and they're faboo. Enjoy your oversteer!

I have been told by several people to stick with the 19mm bar, the 22mm bar is too much. and like telly said, and most other people have told me, you will have alot of oversteer.

Bullshit. 22 is where the fun starts
If you know how to drive the car and its set up right, you can put a 30 on there if it would fit. Its not a part you can just bolt on to a stock setup and go, you'll be out to lunch, but if you can predict it, and you got the rest of the suspension to deal with it... it makes the car an absolute blast. I can't imagine Zzyzxs car with a 25mm bar.

Just to add to my comment - I had 19mm before, and the handling was great, but with this 22, I can step out the rear more easily. This can be both good and bad, as I'm not exactly a professional stunt car driver. I'm still learning the new limits of my suspension, what with having removed my rear upper strut bar and installed my Hayames a little while ago.
One negative about the 22mm rear sway bar - my friggin exhaust bangs off it on a regular basis! I really have to do something about that.

yep, I'm not an autox'er or anything like that, but this 22mm bar handles great and it's very fun to drive with. oversteer? I don't even know what that is or how it feels, but I do know that the bar feels damn good

my exhaust doesn't bang
