TOKICO installed…wow

I had a blow front driver side strut, from a collision with a guard rail a few months back, and a blow rear passenger side shock, which made the car uneven and it was literary wobbling from side to side as I was driving on the freeway. Desperate needed some new shocks.

So I first looked into Koni….way to expensive
Then looked at KYB…but I heard the ride is too ruff.

So I went with TOKICO blue all around.
Got them from $328 with tax from a local warehouse, who does most of their business on eBay.

Let me tell you, the ride quality is perfect, it drives smooth but responsive, and when I take a corner all the sudden it becomes stable, solid, and keep the car leveled.
I’ll recommend these to anyone. By the way, this is with an Eibach Sportline.

HW motorsports installed them for 50 bucks, I don't believe they did any modifications.

Great to hear. My Tokico blues are being installed as I type this. I can't wait to pick my car up and go for a drive in the hills. I needed new brake pads and rotors too so I went with the Brembo X-Drilled rotors with AEM brake pads.

The sport line lowered the car about 1.5"-1.8"

I had these for about a week.

I wish I could fully enjoy my tokico's. I only have them in the rear as of now, because I blew out a shock hitting a curb to avoid an accident. When I hit hard bumps it just hits the front now, it's like the car has no rear end lol. Cornering is much better also, I find the tires stick to the ground better. I can't wait to get some $$ and get the front. ^_^

Question Is that a good setup for daily driving

I am thinking about going with the same Tokico Blues on all 4 and Eibach Proline's. I have a 2k1 ex that I drive about 75 miles a day round trip to and from work. I am riding on Konig Tantrum's 17's with 215 45 17 Kuhmo tires. I just want to drop the car a little bit to help get rid of that extra space in the wheel well and improve a handling, the tires and rims alone helped a bunch. The car has 85k miles on it. You guys are mentioning having blown struts and shocks, at how many miles did this happen and was this just because of the mentioned incidents or is this normal?? I was thinking about just doing springs but with that many miles, I may be better off just doing the Blue's at the same time. Does this sound like a good setup for someone that drives as much as I do every day??? I want it to still be comfortable also.....

Thanks

Brad

I apologize if this shows up twice, I am new to the forum and think I screwed it up the first time.

I got my car back last night and the Tokico's are awesome. They ride is pretty smooth, but as soon as you take a turn you feel that they really eliminate body roll. A definate recommended upgrade.

Hey CincyBlck2k1, you can lower your car without doing the struts. But they WILL wear out soon. It took my car about 6 months for the struts to totally go to s**t. If you have the money do the struts too when you lower the car. You wont regret it!

HEY guys yeah i just installed my TOKICO BLUES too! they're awesome the day after i installed them i went for a nice mountain drive and the handling is amazing! If it wasn't for the sub box in my trunk i could probabaly do some nice turns at 50+ mph.

i have eibach sportlines and the ride is still kind of firm, but no more boucning like crap on the fwy and car feels very stable. definately recommend it!

I just installed my tokico blues as well with H&R Sport Springs. I would also highly recomend this product they were worth the wait. The car rides super smooth even with 205/40/17 tires. Grips beautifully through corners reducing body roll. Best of all I can once again drink a coffee while driving. If you don't need ajustability go with the HP's.

Anyone with experience on Konis and Tokico Blues with the same set of springs ? That will be the best comparision and not stock to konis or stock to Tokicos.
