Full coilover question, to those who have it
So I got my Hayame coilovers and this is what is driving me nuts:
I waited till my springs settled, and then evened out the car height - 2 fingers, thats what I wanted. Now what Im noticing is the gap seems to change depending how I park. If im completely flat on pavement, there even, 2 fingers, but if Im parked anything different than that, say on a very slight incline, or grass, its 1 finger gap somewheres, and more than 2 other places on the tires - WTF? Im wondering if my preload is too light? Seems that those springs are a lot stiffer than stock, so it would take a lot for the car to sit uneven. Can anyone help me out here?
Also, what is a good indication that my preload is set good or bad, my ride seems a little jiggly over small bumps, i wouldn't even call them bumps, just going over small cracks in the pavement and stuff, but over large bumps, it's very responsive, and doesn't continue to bump forever, so Im thinking I got the preload close, but this stupid wheel gap things got me very frustrated

that is normal. I have sportlines and konis and if I am parked on a slanted pavement, mine will sit higher on one side. I wouldnt worry too much about it.
^^LOL you just had to vent.
but back to the question, it sounds like a normal situtation to me because i was curious about the same thing. i park in a parking lot, car looked lower then it was in my driveway. i think the grass you parked in was pretty soft so the cars weight "sunk" it just a little. or because their can be varoius small dirt bumps that make the car seem lower.

it has nothing to do with hayames.. its just that its more noticable with a lowered suspension than stock. I've had what 5 different setups so far and they all do it.
as for jiggly over small bumps, its cause its stiff...
