Uh I am confused. But yeah, don't have to spend any money, don't have to worry about something go wrong (usually), it is designed for the car, not as stiff.

You make it seem like lowering is just about "getting rid of the fender gap." You know there are other benefits to lowering, like better handling.

you could theoretically get rid of fender gap by getting very large tires

Stock suspension looks good with stock tires...

but for Appearance.. If you get rims w/ lower profile tires.. you have to lower it unless you don't mind looking like a truck..

For Performance.. I don't think anyone on this site that has lowered their car with good Quality Coilovers/springs.. etc.. would ever go back to stock.. Sure the ride is stiffer but you can't even compare the handling..

If your rims are larger than your steelies, but your tires (on the rims) are smaller than your stock tires doesn't it even out in the end?

technically it should but it never does. With my 17's and 215/40/17 on one side and stock 14's on the other, the side with the 17's was about 1" higher. The amount of fender gap was about the same but the bigger wheels just need to be surrounded by more fender since they aren't surrounded by as much tire.

I don't get how it does that. It boggles my mind.
