Well everyone today I received my new lower halfs for my Hayames. I've been waiting for nearly a month now after drilling out the tie rod hole before discovered that we weren''t supposed to drill that hole out. Noah did an excellent job on getting them to me, also the great part about these ones, is that the issue with drilling out the lower hole on there was resolved. They had taken the time from the factory and drilled that hole out larger, so it was plug and play for me when i recieved them. No drilling, no machine work no nothing, just screwed them onto the strut, bolted them in and now i just gotta get an alignement and have a shop do some torque tightening. Other than that, i'm satisfied with the customer service i recieved from Noah at SPW. I would say i'm a satisfied Hayame customer so far, i just gotta give them a try and hope I dont have any issues like a few of you did.

Thanks!

After causing a bit of commotion, I thought it would be appropriate to update. Not too long after the original post, I contacted SPW and finally got an RMA from them. I've since shipped off the bad struts, and received the replacements.

One thing I did notice is that the front springs say 0700.2.50.010
which unless i'm mistaken means 10Kg spring rate. Can anyone who recently got Hayames verify this?

#s never seemed to be Hayame's strong suit.

I suppose. I don't really see this as a major problem. I'll probably have oversteer with the higher spring rate in the front, but I think I can counter that w/ more/less bars in the front/back, or maybe change the front springs if they really are Tokico springs.

They're not tokico springs, they are tokico universal shocks.

For a guy with the 25/22 bar combo, you're gonna not want the 22 for the Hayame spring rate. it will oversteer.

i think you have the wrong guy about the bars,

anyway, I just got a call from my shop. They put my replacements in but there's not enough thread on the left tie rod end to adjust the toe on the left side. Right side is perfect, but they're thinking the arm that connects to the tie rod is in a slightly different position. anyone have this problem?

3 weeks have passed since I returned my Hayame at SPW Industries, no refund on my money yet.

edit: Apparently, Mike told me that SPW might have forgotten to tell him that I have returned the item 3 weeks ago.

I gave up. I had my shop order and install Tein Basic today. He showed me the left Hayame front strut. The arm that connects to the tie rod isn't even straight, that's why they couldn't correct the toe. What the hell kind of quality control is that?? plus the higher rate springs on the front. Lesson learned: should've gone w/ Tein in the beginning. when i went to the shop they already had the front teins installed, zero problems.

Now comes the monumental task of trying to return them.

Keisuke, it shouldnt be hard to return them. As soon as SPW receives the item, call your vendor and tell them it has been received. Give them another week before calling again. I waited 3 weeks before calling UrbanImport, Im not sure if I was going to get refunded if I didnt call at all. Someone must have forgotten something. Who, I dont know and it doesnt matter now.
