Whats the perfect drop?
I have some ideas for the 7thgen crowd, but i want to know what you guys/gals like.
What is the best amount of lowering for your 7thgen civic?
What do you feel is the most comfortable drop?
2dr?
4dr?
Si?
Just throw in your true suggestions, they will be taken seriously.
Thanks!
Rob

Sorry, i was not specific enough.
i would have to say until their is only half-finger wheel gap between the tire and fender. here in cali, i think this is a good amount of drop because the highway/streets where im located arent that bad. im currently 2" front/1.8" rear and rarely scrape with careful driving. my front tires have no gap, rear has almost a finger gap (would've went lower but the skunk2 coilovers dont go that low on rear).
and this is for my 2dr
i would think a 1.8" drop would be a good amount all around. so ill say neuspeed sports because i heard people with these have lasted longer on stock shocks compared to eibach springs. but i guess it all depends on how you drive the car.

I prefer no tiregap front-back. The rear can sit a little higher - the rear always sits a lil' higher even when the car is bone stock but when it's slammed, it looks sick. I don't think any set of springs could accomplish that height (at least on 15s). B+G Coilovers can accomplish this... Ground Controls/Skunk2s (if the perches are chopped).

For me and my daily commute, my Eibach Sportlines are perfect. It got rid of the huge wheel gap when I installed my 17" wheels and tires and still allows me to get over speedbumps without scraping. Ther are times when I wish it was lower, but it still looks better then stock.

i agree with you on the skunk2 rear coil not being able to drop more.
but i have a question: whats the worse that can happen by chopping off a layer or more on the perch(es)?

If you have any more questions about it, let me know. I can also take pics of my old struts for you to show you what it should look like.

You won't be ruining the integrity of it because there virtually won't be any perch left but the base for the sleeve will sit in (around the strut at the very bottom of the original perch where it always is).

its koo zell, thanks though. i plan on upgrading to hayame
I went with 1.75 H&R drop. I love it! Had matrix 2" lowering springs in 2 weeks before and it settled to 1.8 in the rear and 1.2 in the front! My coupe looked like a funny car! The coupes and sedans have a fairly large height. I say, the lower, the better!
