Questions about lowering car
Most likely today I am going to install the Eibach Sportline drop kit on my 02 Civic ex. I wanted to know if I absolutely had to get the alignment done or get a camber kit. What is a camber kit? Is there anything else im missing that I should know about the springs, or new shocks, or anything bad about a lowered car?
u should check out the basics here... http://www.7thgencivic.com/modules.p...Suspension+FAQ
when u lower ur car with springs, ur ride is gonna be more harsh and and camber kit is RECOMMENDED. it'll save u in the long run by saving tread of ur tires. without it, ur just gonna have to buy tires more often then without the camber kit. im not too sure on alignment but if u have problems with ur wheels (such as wobbling while driving highspeed), an alignment should be checked for sure.
as for shocks, lets say u drive down the street and u hit a pothole going 40mph... theirs a chance ur shocks will blow, but if u were going 5mph, it would give a much better chance of risk of blowin ur shocks.
i am on skunk2 coilovers WITH spc rear camber kit and so far i been driving it real gentle when i see bumps, potholes, cracks, etc. im dropped 2" ish front and 1.7"ish rear. everyday, i always meet a new bump/pothole with my car
i guess it also depends on what kinda city u live in n where u go often becuz the roads where i drive through are terrible and it bounces my car alot. for $650, u can purchase the full coilovers by HAYAME which i heard real good storys about...
