Hayames making noises
Hayames making noises
I have had my hayames on for about a week and a half and they are great compared to stock with ground control The ride is quite stiff but handling is greatly improved. Also i do not hear any weird clanking noises when i am going over speed bumps. But the other day i was in my car parked and i was turning the wheel and it started making this popping noises as i was turning it from left to right and vice versa. i was worried so i took it out for a spin and left and right turns at slow and fast speeds. i realize that it only made the noise when the car is standing still and it seems to come from the middle or the front right suspension. i know suspension noises have been covered and many were related to blown shocks, but does anyone know what could be causing the noise, i highly doubt its a blown shock since its brand new. its like a metal clanking noise that seems to sound like something is rubbing on the threads of the coilover so its almost continous if i keep turning it. but i dont really know. any ideas?
well i have tried tightening everything up and tried realigning the springs but the popping sound remains when i turn the wheel when the car is standing still. are there any other possible solutions? is there a certain way the springs should be? i tightened all the locking nuts

OK, I'm not too familiar with the Hayame upper mount, but my guess is the bearing is binding. Undo the upper 3 bolts, and torque them back down to 33 ft-lbs. I'd also check and make sure the torque on the center nut is 44 ft-lbs.
ok thanks for all the help, i will have to try this tomorrow and hope that it will solve the problem. i have a feeling that it may have something to do with my neuspeed strut bar, but i dont see how.
well i tried all the possible solutions..tried tightening the lock nuts, changed the preloads at different levels and changed ride height. im gonna get a shop to take a look at it and make sure that it was installed right.
im guessing something is loose and causing the coilover itself to move and rub up on something, it seems like the vibration is either coming from the middle or the front right but i dont really know. things like this makes me wish i had kept the car stock

well the noise went away by itself, after i had taken it to a shop. but now there is a ticking noise coming from the front right. almost sounds like an old problem when i bought the car. when will all this stop!! anyways it doesnt bother me as much as the other noise
