Angry Damn X-Brace......

I just installed my new magnaflow cat back tonight - sounds awesome (except I need it welded due to the fact that she leaks like a sieve). Only problem I have is that there is virtually no clearance between the x-brace and the downpipe. It rattles at idle.

Does anyone else have this combination? If so, how did you remedy it?

I think I might try and install some shims between the X-brace and the subframe, say about .25", just enough to clear the damn downpipe.......

Other than that I have no problems as of yet!

ive had this problem for a while, the x-brace doesn't clear my hp header and cutom mendrel bent catback.

the remidy i have for this is to get some washers and some stronger and longer bolts.... that should clear everything up for you.

Where did you purchase bolts from? I don't know what grade the factory bolts are. Anyone know the specs on the bolts?

Looking at majestic honda's website it appears that the bolt for the front of the control arm is a 14x98mm bolt. However it is a "body fit" bolt, which means it rides in the sleeve of the control arm bushing.....It might be difficult to find one like that. I'd probably need a 14x105mm, but I am going to see how much thread is protruding out of the top of the control arm first to see how much I have to play with...
