soo i got my konis installed like 4 monthes ago at a clarks house of suspension in mission viego, southern cali. it was fine for a while until i was driving one day and i heard this clunk noise when i hit bumps. i thought it was normal since my friends' cars make the same sound with their shocks. but then recently the noise occured more and more often. everytime i would turn left, there would be multiple clunk sounds.. so finally i drove it to my dads mechanic and he told me that my right shock was broken.. the perch for the front broke off and the wheel was shaking, with the bolts on! he said if i drove on it any longer than i might have got into a big accident.
im juss telling everyone this cause i kno a lot of people have konis, and i dont want them to go throguh the BS that i went throguh....so now i have rear koni shocks and front oem shocks =(

DO you have springs or coilovers? If you have Coilovers, I hope you don't have Skunk2 coilovers. Cause Koni struts are not designed for Skunk2 coilovers and they will cause your perches to break. And Koni will not warranty your struts if you have Skunk2 coilovers. Just a FYI.
A bigger FYI. Koni WILL warranty your shocks even if you are using skunk 2 coilovers, this is a fact and I know a few members on here and even more rsx guys have had their koni's replaced under warranty while using skunk 2 coilovers. Send them back

the perch for the front broke off
the problem you are talking about sounds like to rear. If it is the rear Koni will warranty it.
Yeah for me the rear snap ring that holds up the perch broke off....yeah that was pretty bad.....I don't see how the fronts could ever break....unless Koni has a new design...cuz the way that the fronts go in is it uses your stock perch and is just an insert that fits into the stock housing.....Unless your machanic..is a n00b and ****ed the install.....
What you need to do...(if it is the rear pearch that is toast) is call Koni..get them to send you a new snap ring....(2 of them) then put the snap rings in the top groove of the Koni cuz there are 2 of them...my snap rings are in the top......
But I have Ground Control coilovers.....my alluminum sleeve has started to bend under all the pressure cuz of how low my car is......
Do you find that your rears tend to bottom out a lot?.....also..if I make my struts super hard...is that going to make them easier to blow....

my rears are fine, *knock on wood* for the fronts, when i look at the shock, their is a lump on both sides of the shock to keep it inside the stock housing. but on mine, one of the sides ripped off..i guess there was too much pressure or something..so then i was riding on one side of the shock, basically it came out of the stock housing. ill try and take a pic of it. damn these koni's i should have gotten tein ss
Ughhhh
Yeah I know the lil nobby parts on the side of the Koni Strut...well that is supposed to slid into the stock housing..of the shock...just to make it stick in there a little more snug......But I don't see how the Koni is going to come out of the stock housing...unless the moron who installed the Koni...didn't bolt the bottom of Koni to the bottom of the stock strut........Cuz that's how it's supposed to be secured to the stock housing......
