question for koni yellow users

I have an 02 coupe with H&R springs and koni yellows. Is there supposed to be a creaking noise that comes from the rear struts' polyurethane bushings?

exactly.. so I repeat my question... koni yellow users.. are your rear koni yellow struts creaking when going on uneven roads and dips and driveways and such??? I was told that it was because of the struts' polyurethane bushing....

I've had my Koni's a couple of months now and have experianced no noises like that. Try some white lithium grease near the pivot points that might help.

sffree ...you still got that same creak huh ? My yellows where quiet for a year then one started to creak. It turned out to be. the lower bushing on the strut. It got pushed and a little to one side and a bit crooked in the hole. I took it out used a press with the proper sized socket (so I could just push on the bushing) to get it centered and straight again. When I reinstalled the strut. I put a bit of grease on the sides of the bushing and on the bolt just to make sure nothing binds up. It hasn't squeeked since/

damn... the thing is that every time I want to do something, I have to take it to my mechanic. I am 100%, absolutely, without a doubt, clueless on how to do the work myself---and I don't even have a setup to do the work even if I knew how (i.e. no jack stands or anything that would allow me a closer inspection)...I just got these new rear strut replacements from Koni the other day (apparently they've had several issues with it not fitting right onto the stock honda control arm. Anyways, the fit is MUCH better, but the creaking persists. ARGH

oh. hey .. one more thing. Would it be completely wrong to just swap out the koni yellow rear bolt ons with the regular factory McPherson ones? would that not work right on a lowered car with springs? I wish I could upload an audio file to everyone could here this BS. anyhow.. thanks for the info ya'll

the factory struts will blow out sooner or later. Have you tried taking it to a different shop? Maybe a different set of eyes and ears might help.

did that. the installer of these recent replacement fixes was a different dude than the other ones who were supposedly 'Koni Distributors'.. go figure. Would the lube suggestion be a temp fix? is it something I can do without disassemblying the who suspension?

to truly lube the lower bushing you would have to take off that lower bolt... you would need a jack and stands to do the job

some springs tend to creak. it's normal if it does. nothing bad with them.

really? do you know specifically for H&Rs? Now that you mention that... I didn't have this problem when I had my original set of springs on... But I'd be surprised because the old springs were crappy 'Matrix' brand.... Is there anything I can do if it IS the spring? Though, if it was the spring, I'd be having the problem in the front too? no?

my rear is also squeaking over bumpy roads, can someone post a picture of what need to be fixed? please?

I am running stock struts in the front, I want to order the koni adjustables but I hears they are pretty hard to install in the front. I want to know if anyone knows a place that can do such job in my area (florida miami / ft. lauderdale)

thanks !
