Question Suspension Questions 101

Hi all,

Im not satisfied with the oem suspension of my 01 Civic Sedan. Before I decide to upgrade it, I want to verify some things.

1. Im more interested in comfort, should I be installing softer suspensions? Specifically to eliminate bouncy rear.
2. Softer springs is bigger or smaller in diameter?
3. Can progressive springs answer my needs? or softer struts?
4. Brands of products I should look for?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Many thanks!

Jay

1.Softer springs would give you a softer ride, but springs don't elimiate bounce, shocks do.
2. smaller
3. They might
4. B&G? maybe Tein basic (and have them put on a softer spring rate)

the biggest problem I see here is if you want to lower your car. If you go with a soft spring and lower the car, the suspension may bottom out when you go over bumps. other wise, a quality set of shocks on the stock springs may be all that you need. Like a set of Konis set on the softest setting or something allong that line.
