Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with a problem I'm having. I just installed goldlines on my sedan with a an ingalls camber kit and I've had everything aligned, etc. However, when I go over some sharper bumps at slower speeds (like 5-30 mph) my back end makes a rattling sound. Its not very loud and seems to come more from the right rear, but I think the left rear is doing it a little too. Do you know what this could be caused by. I was thinking maybe the back main nut didn't seed on the main screw on the rear springs enough. I took a wrench and tried to tighten them more, but it's pretty difficult to tell if its seeded or not by hand with a small wrench because when I torque it the whole springs seems to kind of turn or bend with it. Do you guys have any ideas what it might be. I did all the work in a shop with a wall mounted spring clamp, but the rear springs I didn't actually do the main bolt myself(a mechanic in the shop I was doing the work in did). It doesn't seem to do it at higher speeds, but who knows, it could just be that I'm not hearing it because there is more road noise. Let me know if any of you have experienced this with your spring installation. Who knows maybe thats just the sound it makes with the new lower stiffer springs and I need to get used to it, but it just doesn't seem like a natural sound even with the new springs. Thanks

I think this is caused by the bunching up of the goldline coils. Springs shouldn't do that, but these do. That's the way they lower the ride height. Anyway, I think they clang against each other over certain bumps. That's what you're hearing. It's normal for these springs. Sucks, doesn't it?

Ahh you know what that does make sense. Because in the rear bottom 3 coils or so are pretty bunched together. Do you have or did you have goldlines? Your profile doesn't say you have any springs. Yeah that does stink because I love the drop the goldlines gave me. It's perfect all the way around the car. I think I was noticing it more and it was bothering me, because I was thinking maybe there was something wrong. However, as long as its normal, I'm sure I'll drive a little more carefree now. Has any one else noticed this with their goldlines. Who know's maybe I'll get some Eiback springs that have the 1.5 inch drop down the line. I wouldn't mind if the back was just a little higher. Thanks for the help Grey
I disagree... I've been crowding up this forum a while now complaining on the noise problems Ive had with my 02 civic coupe lowered with the alignment kit, etc..... It's a creaking noise that I get when the car moves, brakes, bounces, you name it---I thought it was the bushings/fitting of the rear konis (the fronts are fine and noise free ..I presume b/c they're inserts).. so I worked with Koni until they fabbed a better fitting one... the noise was still there... I replaced my crappy lowering springs with H&Rs .. that did nothing... I tried spring insulators/isolators using a spring coil wrap recommended by many people to cure noise issues due to bunching of the excess coils ..still no change.....I replaced those springs with an Eibach Pro Kit thinking it would fit a Honda better than H&Rs' more euro reputation... that did nothing... I am really suspicious of the ingalls camber kit tho..... I think THOSE polyeur bushings are the culprit... A SPRING RELATED NOISE wouldn't cause that noise you're talking about....
