ok, so i just replaced lower control arm, knuckle, and end-link for my suspension. After the install, i got the car aligned, and wheels balanced. The tires are less than 2 weeks old, and the car is not lowered. Everything seems right, but for some reason, the car pulls to the right a bit if i don't touch the steering wheel? is it a problem? how do i fix it? also i feels the steering wheel is a little bit shaky after 65+mph.
also i notice something, our civic comes with an option called "Tilt Steering Wheel", does it mean exactly?
for reference to where i found that option go here: http://autos.msn.com
TIA

Are you sure they did it right? did they do the computerized version?
tilt steering wheel is just that you can move your steering wheel up and down. There is a little lever on the left side of the steering wheel that if you push down you can move the steering wheel up and down depending on how you like it. The accords have that and they have a steering wheeel that moves in and out. It is a common feature among cars to accomadate different types of drivers.
I would get it realigned and if that doesn't work, have them look at your front frame.

Could be tires. Try rotating the rear tires to the front and test. Even though your tires are new, doesnt mean shiz if they werent installed and balanced correctly. If it drives better, then you now know what the problem is.

well, i am going to the west coast meet in a hour or so, maybe i can use those 500+ miles to "break in" my new tires. If it still doesn't work, I'll check my alignment again.
and yes, they did use the computerize alignment machine.

ok, after 500 and so miles, the car sort of go straight now. but do you think its just the tires that straigten the car?
also, i thought alignment only does toe-in and toe-out corrections, how does alignment affect if the car pulls to the side or not?

Does it pull to the right at any speed? I mention this since I had a bad tires once. The inner tread had a bulge on it, and when I reached highway speeds it would pull to the right. At slower speeds it wasnt noticable. Try swapping your tires like I mentioned in my previous post above and see what happens. Cant hurt to try..
I read somewhere that cars are setup to pull to the right a small amount for safety reasons. Like if you fall asleep at the wheel.. dunno how true that is. My car doesnt seem to pull either way.
An alignment corrects toe-in, camber and sometimes caster. When adjusting the toe, the tie-rod is turned to make it longer or shorter until its within spec.
You shouldnt have to break in tires t have the car drive straight.
I'd take it back to the place you had your alignment done and say that its pulls to the right. Ask them to go for a spin or if they can put it back up on the rack.

Yeah i thought ur car should always pull a little bit to the right because roads slant downward to the right for water drainage when it rains so big puddles don't sit in the road.
I'v had a problem like this since my 2001 civic was new, but both Honda nor the alighnment shop can seem to get my steering wheel centered 100% perfectly. They say I'm too fussy.
As for the clank which I also have going over bumps, I've tried everything and I'm begining to think it's related to the power steering unit.
Problem is, I've never had such an unsure driving feeling on any other car I've owned before.

oh, i now experience this pulling in some roads and not in other roads.....is it really the road grade thing?
Just talked to the guys at my alignment shop as I've had a problem like this for over a year now. They are telling me that the strut tops could be the problem.
Seems strange to me on a 2 year old car, but they're the pros. I thought strut tops kept the struts in place and prevented rattle.
