anyone has JIC MAGIC coilovers?
Hey,
I'm looking for coilovers and my friend told me to check out JIC. How do these compare to Teins? I'm looking for KW's or JICs that are equavalent to or better then the Tein SS.
I'm looking for coilers to do track/autocross racing.
thanks

Both the Kw's and JICs are better than the Tein SS. The Tein flex would be equivalent to the JICs and better than the KWs. Yes there is a member here who has the JICs for an RSX.

The kit was actually for a CTR, but thats neither here nor there.
If you're going to autocross on them, I would make sure that the pillowballs are STS legal. It would suck to end up in SM or SP because of it.
There's a rule for ST that says something about the mounting being the factory location, etc..... and I don't know if Pillowballs are within that realm.
Here's the rule straight from the book:
"Any shock absorbers may be used, provided they attach to the original mounting points. The number of shock absorbers shall be the same as Stock. No shock absorber may be capable of adjustment while the car is in motion, unless fitted as orignal equipment. MacPherson strut equipped cars may substitute struts, and/or may use any insert. This does not allow unauthorized changes in suspension geometry or changes in attachment points (e.g., affecting the position of the lower ball joint or spindle). It is intended to allow the strut length changes needed to accommodate permitted modifications which affect ride height and suspension travel. "
Besides... if you've never done it before or haven't done it much... don't put a new suspension in yet. Drive on the stock one and force yourself to keep the car under control. You'll become a much better driver for it later on.
