loweing springs vs. sleeved coilovers......

ok, i just had some dropzone coilovers on my 2k1 coupe.. they sucked beyond all belief and F'd up my front suspension (struts, mounts, thingys that alow the wheelse to turn) i took them off and just had my front struts replaced, and 6 other parts so there would be no banging noise when i turned the wheel... when i had the coilovers on the car, every bump i hit forced the shocks/struts to bottom out, and make a lound whacking noise.. im getting 17 inch rims (215/45/17 tires) and dont want the wheel gap, and i cant afford tein SS coilovers right now... would just lowering springs (such as EIBACH or TEIN springs) lower it w/o complety sacrificing my ride? or will i have to get new shocks/struts inorder to have any ride comfort at all? has anyone had this same problem, or can anyone that lowered their car with springs and stock struts give me some advice? thanks

you can still use them with stock struts . you will eventually blow them...
why not just save up til you can afford to buy full coilovers. thast what i did.. took while but worth it.

sleeved coilovers do suck, but i would rather get them than lowering springs, i have skunk2 sleeved coilovers and i got them for pretty much the same price as lowering springs and i love them, i like being able to adjust my ride height. no matter what if you lower your car you OEM shocks and struts will blow. but full coilovers is the way to go

While we're on the subject is there anything different in the installation of sleeved coilovers vs springs? I'm going to be doing a set tomorrow on a friends sedan.

my prokit and stock shocks have lasted a year or so with fairly harsh conditions, but i can feel them starting to go out. i'm sure it'll go quicker when i install my gc's this week

DizWikedCivic is on a distinguished road
if u use sleeve coilover or springs on stock shocks, it will still blow, it just the matter of time and how hard u drive your car, they go blow the next day or 2 year later, for the ride comfort is how low u willing to go, the lower u want to go, the more harsh your going to be
